I feel Rajinikanth means good, says top music composer Rahman

Oscar winning music composer A R Rahman today said he felt that actor Rajinikanth meant "only good," by outlining a theme of "spiritual politics." "He has spoken about spiritual politics of a secular character, only he knows what he meant by saying that, but I feel that Rajinikanth meant only good," Rahman told reportes here. The composer, answering a question on actors entering politics, said "they (actors like Kamal Haasan and Rajinikanth) should have felt that there is a need for a good leadership," he said. Rahman, who is set to celebrate his 51st birthday on January 6, said anybody who joined politics, whether Rajinikanth or others, should work for fulfilling the needs of the people. Improving infrastructure, making farmers' lives better are among the things that needed attention, he said. HC rejects plea for probe over Dileep's visitors in jail

The Kerala High Court today dismissed a petition seeking investigation into alleged irregularities committed by jail authorities in allowing visitors to actor Dileep while he was jailed in connection with attack on a South Indian actress here last year. Justice B Kemal Pasha rejected the petition after accepting a report submitted by the Deputy Superintendent of Police, Aluva, who probed the matter. The DySP, in his report, said no jail rules were violated in allowing visitors to meet the Malayalam actor in the Aluva sub-jail, where he was lodged. The court had earlier directed the state government to produce an inquiry report on the visits of various persons, including certain film personalities at the sub-jail when Dileep was remanded there in connection with the case. CCI rejects complaint against K Sera Sera, 7 others

The Competition Commission has dismissed allegations of abuse of dominance against K Sera Sera Digital Cinema and seven other entities with regard to supply of equipment used for the purpose of film exhibition. The others are Viacom 18, Aditya Chowksey, UFO Movies India, E-City Digital Cinema, Real Image Media Technology, United Media Works and the Film and TV Producers Guild of India. The complaint was made by a Madhya Pradesh-based cinema hall proprietor, who had entered into an agreement with K Sera Sera, wherein the latter had agreed to install all the necessary Digital Cinema Equipment (DCE) required for the purposes of screening films at the former's theatre premises. It was alleged that K Sera Sera had abused its dominant position by unlawfully terminating the agreement and that the Film & TV Producers Guild had done the same by issuing diktats to all producers to not deal with the complainant.
