Indiana State University group to honor Jamal Khashoggi
A journalism group at Indiana State University is taking steps to honor alumnus and slain Saudi columnist Jamal Khashoggi. The Tribune-Star reports that the university's chapter of the Society of Professional Journalists hopes to dedicate a meeting space to Khashoggi, who was also recently named Time Person of the Year . Graduate student Andrew Hile is the university's SPJ president. He says the space will serve as a reminder that students should act with "courage, commitment and integrity." Khashoggi attended the university from 1977 to 1982 and received a degree in business administration. The group also plans to raise money for the Committee to Protect Journalists, a nonprofit that promotes the rights of journalists. Khashoggi was killed two months ago when The Washington Post columnist visited Saudi Arabia's consulate in Turkey for paperwork so he could get married. He had been critical of the Saudi regime.

Disney cable network has severed ties with "Andi Mack" actor Stoney Westmoreland, who has been arrested for allegedly trying to arrange a sexual liaison with a 13-year-old he met online. Westmoreland, 48, plays the grandfather on Disney Channel sitcom "Andi Mack", reported Deadline. "Stoney Westmoreland, an actor working on the series 'Andi Mack', was arrested in Salt Lake City today. Actor Claire Foy and producer Chuck Lorre will be receiving special honours at the Critics' Choice Awards. Foy, best known for playing Queen Elizabeth II in "The Crown", will be honoured with the #SeeHer award, the Broadcast Film Critics Association (BFCA) and the Broadcast Television Journalists Association (BTJA) said in a statement. Kenneth Branagh's 'All Is True' to open Palm Springs International Film Festival
Kenneth Branagh's next directorial "All is True" will be the opening film at the 2019 Palm Springs International Film Festival. The announcement was made by the festival organisers in a statement. The film, which features Branagh, Judi Dench and Ian McKellen in the lead, is about classic playwright William Shakespeare in the last act of his life. The story follows Shapespeare who returns to his home in Stratford-upon-Avon and there he encounter old ghosts, old loves, and his resentful family. The organisers also announced that Bruce Beresford's "Ladies in Black" will be the closing film at the festival. A total of 223 films from 78 countries will screened during the festival. 48 features will have their world premiere at the film extravaganza. The 30th edition of the film festival will run from January 3 to 14, 2019.

Guillermo del Toro's next production "Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark" is set to release in the US on August 9, 2019. The film, based on Alvin Schwartz's internationally best-selling book series, follows a group of young teens who must solve the mystery surrounding sudden and macabre deaths in their small town.
