Andaman's Swaraj Dweep decked up for G20 Presidency meeting today

Swaraj Dweep, popularly known as Havelock Island, in Andaman and Nicobar Islands has been decked up to host one of the much-awaited meetings of the G20 Presidency which will be held on Saturday afternoon. Spread over an area of 92.2 sq km and having a population of 5,500, Swaraj Dweep is two-and-half-hour by sea journey from Port Blair in government ferries and private cruises. As Swaraj Dweep is known for its pristine beaches, G20 India coordinator Harsh Vardhan Shringla and G20 Sherpa Amitabh Kant organised a yoga session on Kala Patthar beach on Saturday morning for around 40 delegates from various countries. The beach is nearly 13 km from the private hotel where they are staying. G20: India to host science ministries meet in Coimbatore next year

India will host a meeting of science ministers from G-20 member nations at Coimbatore in July next year during its presidency of the grouping of the world's 20 major developed and emerging economies. Besides the Science-20 Summit with the theme Disruptive Science for Innovative and Sustainable Growth', the science administrators will also host the Research Innovation Initiated Gathering (RIIG) on the theme Research and Innovation for Equitable Society. Science and Technology Minister Jitendra Singh on Saturday chaired a meeting of six science ministries and departments to review the preparations for the S-20 summit. A number of side events related to the Science-20 and RIIG meetings have been planned across the country to showcase India's rich cultural heritage and diversity, an official statement said. India briefs G20 FMs, central bank governors on its 2023 presidency agenda

India on Thursday briefed the finance ministers and central bank governors of G-20 countries about its agenda for the next year when it assumes the rotating annual presidency of the grouping. India will take over the G20 Presidency in 2023, including the finance track. The ministers and governors have been briefed about the proposed main priority agendas from the 2023 India Presidency, Indonesian Finance Minister Sri Mulyani Indrawati told reporters during a press conference held here on the sidelines of the annual meetings of the International Monetary Fund and the World Bank. Indonesia currently holds the presidency of G-20 countries.
