India’s housing market saw steady growth in the second quarter of 2024, with average prices in the top eight cities rising by 3 per cent from the previous quarter, according to an industry report.
Registration of residential properties in Noida and Greater Noida rose 29 per cent annually in the June quarter to 8,212 units, according to housing brokerage firm Square Yards. As many as 6,354 units were registered in the year-ago period. Residential real estate activity in Noida and Greater Noida saw a marked uptick in the June quarter of 2024, with 8,212 residential transactions registered with the Inspector General of Registration (IGR). "The combined sales value of these transactions reached Rs 6,013 crore, representing a 59 per cent year-on-year surge, outpacing the growth in transaction volume," the consultant said in a statement. The board of the Greater Noida Industrial Development Authority (GNIDA) on Saturday approved a proposal to increase land allocation rates by 5.30 per cent for 2024-25 fiscal, according to an official statement. Several developmental projects, including the Greater Noida West Metro, Multimodal Logistics Hub, and Transport Hub, are coming to Greater Noida and Greater Noida West (also known as Noida Extension), the GNIDA said. "In view of these developmental projects, property allocation rates are determined for each financial year. The board has approved the proposal to increase the current allocation rates for industrial, residential, commercial, institutional, and builder properties by 5.30 per cent for the fiscal year 2024-25," it said. The Noida Police nabbed eight criminal suspects within 48 hours after a series of encounters in which seven of them suffered gunshot injuries, according to officials. Among those held is a Delhi-based robber who has over two dozen criminal cases registered against him at various police stations in the National Capital Region and two members of the 'Thak-Thak' gang, the officials said. Noida and Greater Noida have witnessed 7,481 property registrations worth Rs 3,179 crore in the fourth quarter of 2023, according to data by online real estate platform Square Yards. The data is based on the property registered by the Inspector General of Registration (IGR), Uttar Pradesh, the platform said in a statement on Wednesday. In Noida, 247 properties worth Rs 157 crore were registered in 'Noida Central' during the period, while 205 units valued at Rs 109 crore were registered on Noida Expressway, the data showed. As many as 6,366 properties worth Rs 2,643.7 crore were registered in Greater Noida West, also known as Noida Extension, and 643 units were registered in the 'Yamuna Expressway' area, the data showed.
