Greater Noida board hikes land allocation rates by 5.30% for FY25

The board of the Greater Noida Industrial Development Authority (GNIDA) on Saturday approved a proposal to increase land allocation rates by 5.30 per cent for 2024-25 fiscal, according to an official statement. Several developmental projects, including the Greater Noida West Metro, Multimodal Logistics Hub, and Transport Hub, are coming to Greater Noida and Greater Noida West (also known as Noida Extension), the GNIDA said. "In view of these developmental projects, property allocation rates are determined for each financial year. The board has approved the proposal to increase the current allocation rates for industrial, residential, commercial, institutional, and builder properties by 5.30 per cent for the fiscal year 2024-25," it said. "The finance department will soon issue an office order in this regard. The new rates will be considered effective from April 1," the GNIDA said, describing the 5.30 per cent rate hike as "modest". Cops nab eight crime suspects after series of encounters in Noida

The Noida Police nabbed eight criminal suspects within 48 hours after a series of encounters in which seven of them suffered gunshot injuries, according to officials. Among those held is a Delhi-based robber who has over two dozen criminal cases registered against him at various police stations in the National Capital Region and two members of the 'Thak-Thak' gang, the officials said. The first of the three encounters took place on the intervening night of Wednesday and Thursday during a routine police check at Sector-96 junction, under Sector-39 police station limits, a police spokesperson said. SKA Group to invest Rs 600 cr to build premium housing project in Gr Noida

Realty firm SKA Group on Wednesday said it will invest nearly Rs 600 crore to develop a premium housing project in Greater Noida as part of its expansion plan. The company has so far completed four housing projects comprising 3,200 units, while two residential projects are under construction totalling 1,800 units. It is also developing a commercial project comprising 600 units. These projects are in the Noida, Greater Noida and Ghaziabad markets of Uttar Pradesh. "We have launched a new housing project 'SKA Destiny One' in Greater Noida. The project spread over 6 acres will have 645 units," SKA Group Director Sanjay Sharma told reporters here. The price ranges between Rs 1.5 crore and Rs 3 crore per apartment. The company had bought this land from Greater Noida development authority and the entire land price has been paid. 93 hospitalised in twin food poisoning cases in Noida, Greater Noida

As many as 93 people, including 17 in Noida and 76 in Greater Noida, were hospitalised due to suspected food poisoning in two separate incidents after consuming special meals for fast made of 'kuttu ka atta' on Mahashivratri, officials on Saturday said. The 17 people, who fell ill in Noida, included men and women residents of Barola village who are admitted to the district hospital in Sector 30 while the 76 people in Greater Noida are students of different colleges living in a private hostel and have been admitted to different hospitals in the area, they said. The students, who are enrolled at different colleges and lived in a private hostel, had dinner on Friday after which many of them complained of uneasiness, dizziness and vomiting, police said. Farmers protest: Noida Police steps up security along its Delhi borders

Noida Police on Thursday stepped up security along its borders with Delhi in view of the proposed farmers' march to the Parliament, officials said. This also led to slow movement of vehicular traffic at various routes, including the Noida-Greater Noida Expressway and DND. "In view of the farmers' movement, barriers are being installed at all the borders of Delhi and at Kisan Chowk and other places. Each vehicle is being checked and passed due to which the traffic is moving slowly," a police spokesperson said. Noida, Gr Noida register residential property of Rs 3,179 cr in Dec quarter

Noida and Greater Noida have witnessed 7,481 property registrations worth Rs 3,179 crore in the fourth quarter of 2023, according to data by online real estate platform Square Yards. The data is based on the property registered by the Inspector General of Registration (IGR), Uttar Pradesh, the platform said in a statement on Wednesday. In Noida, 247 properties worth Rs 157 crore were registered in 'Noida Central' during the period, while 205 units valued at Rs 109 crore were registered on Noida Expressway, the data showed. As many as 6,366 properties worth Rs 2,643.7 crore were registered in Greater Noida West, also known as Noida Extension, and 643 units were registered in the 'Yamuna Expressway' area, the data showed. Among developers, Nirala World led with the registry of 371 units amounting to Rs 203 crore, followed by Ace Group with 259 registrations totalling Rs 181 crore in the October-December 2023 quarter, Square Yards said. Greater Noida may soon enter into a 'Sister City' agreement with the US' Loudoun County, in a move that can open the way for large-scale investment, academic and cultural exchanges between them, officials said. Classes in Noida to begin from 10 am starting Jan 18 due to cold conditions

Classes from nursery to 8 in all schools of Noida and Greater Noida will start at 10 am from January 18 on account of cold weather conditions, officials said on Wednesday. This timing would continue until further orders from the district administration, Gautam Buddh Nagar Basic Education Officer Rahul Panwar said. "In compliance with the instructions given by the District Magistrate, Gautam Buddh Nagar, in view of the dense fog and extreme cold, classes in all schools from nursery to 8 will be conducted from 10 am from January 18 till further orders," Panwar stated in the order. Housing sales in Gurugram up 13% in 2023; down 7-8% in Noida: Anarock

Housing sales in Gurugram rose by 13 per cent annually in 2023 on high demand, especially for luxury flats, but Noida and Greater Noida saw a 7-8 per cent fall, according to Anarock data on the Delhi NCR market. Real estate consultant Anarock's data showed that sales of residential properties in Gurugram went up 13 per cent to 36,970 in 2023 from 32,615 units in the previous year. However, sales in Noida fell 8 per cent to 5,840 units from 6,360 units. Greater Noida saw a 7 per cent drop in sales to 10,180 units from 10,985 units. Ghaziabad, too, witnessed a fall of 8 per cent to 6,340 units from 6,890 units. The total housing sales in Faridabad, Delhi and Bhiwadi decreased to 6,295 units during 2023 from 6,860 units in the previous year. Police imposes Section 144 in Noida, Greater Noida for Dec 31, Jan 1

The Gautam Buddh Nagar Police Saturday announced imposing prohibitory measures under CrPC section 144 on December 31 and January 1, preventing unlawful assembly of five or more people in Noida and Greater Noida. Unauthorised processions, holding religious prayers and consumption of alcohol in public places have also been banned for Sunday and Monday. As per the instructions, the use of private drones in a radius of one kilometre of government establishments is completely banned during the period.
