Porn behind rising child rape cases, molestation: MP Home Minister

Madhya Pradesh Home Minister Bhupendra Singh on Tuesday blamed pornographic websites for rising number of child rape and molestation in India.Singh further noted that his government is considering banning porn in Madhya Pradesh."We think the reason for rising number of child rape and molestation cases are porn. We are contemplating banning porn in Madhya Pradesh, will approach Centre in the matter," Singh told ANI.According to media reports, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) government in Madhya Pradesh has blocked 25 porn sites.Singh's statement comes after the horrific rape and murder of an infant baby girl in Indore on April 19. The infant was recovered from the basement of a building.Reportedly, the police have identified the accused as Sunil Bheel, 21, claiming that he was seen in CCTV footage, around 4.45 am on Friday, carrying the infant on his shoulder.

Cobbler sleeping on pavement dies as luxury car runs over him

A cobbler sleeping on a pavement here died when a luxury car in which four women engineering students, including the daughter of a police inspector, were travelling allegedly ran over him early today, police said. One of the four students, who was driving the car, had been arrested on the charge of causing death by negligence, they said. The victim was identified as 48-year old Ashok, who was running a small footwear repair shop on the pavement in Kushaiguda area. Court dismisses complaint against Prime Minister

A Delhi court today dismissed a complaint accusing Prime Minister Narendra Modi of "insulting" the national flag in 2015 on the international yoga day and later during his visit to the United States. Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Samar Vishal rejected the plea for lodging an FIR under relevant provisions, noting that the complainant has already passed away. A brother-sister duo drowned in the Cauvery river near here while trying to rescue their pet dog, police said today. The incident occurred yesterday when the two, in their 20s, had gone to the famous Nattatreeswaran (Lord Shiva) temple, located in the middle of the Cauvery river at Kangeyampalayam, they added. They were taking a bath when they noticed the dog being washed away and rushed to rescue it, police said.
