Sadhana Nitro Chem Ltd, which manufactures intermediate specialty chemicals, on Monday said it will set up a green hydrogen facility for captive usage and launch a rights issue to raise up to Rs 50 crore. In a regulatory filing, the company said it "will foray into land green energy for captive usage (self-consumption). The company will set up a green hydrogen facility, based on a solar plant and wind farm with a capacity of 15MW-20MW." The board also approved a rights issue, subject to necessary approvals from regulatory authorities. The rights shares are being offered at Rs 121 per share (a premium of Rs 120), and the company will look to raise up to Rs 49.95 crore. The funds for the rights issue will be mainly used for the acquisition of a 126-acre land plot. This land will be strategically employed for the establishment of both a solar power facility and a wind energy installation. "These sustainable energy sources will be harnessed to generate electricity, which, in turn, wil

Domestic hydrogen equipment market to touch $50 billion by 2030: IH2A

Industry body India Hydrogen Alliance (IH2A) on Wednesday said it expects the domestic hydrogen equipment manufacturing and services market to reach USD 45-50 billion by 2030. This market assessment includes all hydrogen production plant equipment, including electrolyser and balance-of-plant equipment, that can be deployed in India and exported from to countries in Asia, the Middle East and Africa, IH2A said in a report. This will help build India as a supply chain hub for future green hydrogen projects, it said. "IH2A estimates a USD 45-50 billion Indian hydrogen equipment manufacturing and services market by 2030," the report said. The industry body has also projected a USD 36 billion regional equipment and services exports market, while USD 9-13.5 billion domestic equipment market size over the next seven years. Of the USD 45-50 billion, 34 per cent share will be of electrolysers stacks, 62 per cent for balance of plant equipment and 4 per cent for specialist engineering servic

Need investments to reduce green hydrogen production cost: Ireda CMD

The cost of producing green hydrogen can be lowered through investments in research, development, and innovation, state-owned Ireda CMD Pradip Kumar Das has said. He made the remarks while addressing the AtoZero (Accelerate to Net Zero) ASEAN Summit in Kuala Lumpur in Malaysia, the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE) said in a statement. "Das highlighted the importance of reducing the cost of Green Hydrogen through investments in research, development, and innovation. These investments aim to identify cost-effective methods for green hydrogen production," it added. He also advocated for leveraging economies of scale in transportation (including pipeline and liquefaction) and storage facilities by establishing hydrogen hubs. These hubs would promote greater utilisation of infrastructure, further advancing the green hydrogen sector. Indian Renewable Energy Development Agency (Ireda) has also set up a pavilion at the event, which was inaugurated by Deputy Prime Minister of ...

IndianOil unveils nation's 1st green hydrogen run bus that emits just water

India's top oil firm IOC on Monday unveiled the nation's first green hydrogen-powered bus that emits just water as it takes the lead in bringing out unrivaled tools to replace fossil fuels. Indian Oil Corporation (IOC) will produce close to 75 kg of hydrogen by splitting water using electricity from renewable sources. This hydrogen will be used to power two buses which will ply across the national capital region for trial runs. Oil Minister Hardeep Singh Puri, flagging off the buses, said hydrogen will be India's transition fuel for moving away from fossil fuels. IOC's R&D Centre at Faridabad is producing green hydrogen for the pilot run. Four cylinders with a capacity of 30 kg can run the buses for 350 km. It takes 10-12 minutes for the four tanks to fill. Hydrogen when burnt emits only water vapour as a by-product. With three times the energy density and the absence of harmful emissions, hydrogen shines as a cleaner, more efficient choice to meet the energy requirement. As much

Addressing a public meeting while flagging off Jan Ashirward Yatra in Khandwa, Gadkari congratulated Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan in view of the state holding the top position in the country in agriculture production for seven times on the trot. The BJP has planned yatras to reach out to people ahead of assembly elections, due later this year. The state is producing thermal, hydro, wind and solar power in a major way in the country. An electrolyser can be set up near the solar power facility to produce green hydrogen from water and I am confident that like agriculture, Madhya Pradesh will remain top in producing green hydrogen in the country which is futuristic fuel, he said. The Minister of Road Transport & Highways also said farmers would not .

Govt unveils Green Hydrogen standards, sets emission limits for production

The government on Saturday unveiled Green Hydrogen standards and included electrolysis and biomass-based methods in its definition. In a significant move for the progress of the National Green Hydrogen Mission, the government has notified the Green Hydrogen Standard for India, the New and Renewable Energy Ministry said in a statement. The standards issued by the ministry outline the emission thresholds that must be met in order for hydrogen produced to be classified as Green', i.e., from renewable sources. The scope of the definition encompasses both electrolysis-based and biomass-based hydrogen production methods, it stated. After discussions with multiple stakeholders, the Ministry of New & Renewable Energy has decided to define Green Hydrogen as having a well-to-gate emission (i.e., including water treatment, electrolysis, gas purification, drying and compression of hydrogen) of not more than 2 kg CO2 equivalent / kg H2. The notification specifies that a detailed methodology ..
