Sebi comes out with testing framework for IT systems of stock exchanges

Capital markets regulator Sebi on Friday put in place a comprehensive testing framework for the information technology (IT) systems of the stock exchanges and other market infrastructure institutions (MIIs). The framework will be for the IT systems of MIIs -- stock exchanges, clearing corporations, and depositories -- throughout their lifecycle, which can assist the MIIs in performing thorough risk assessment before deploying any IT systems in production or live environment. Under the framework, all MIIs have been asked to do extensive testing, validation, and documentation whenever new systems or changes to existing systems are introduced before the deployment in the production/live environment, according to a circular. Further, they have to set up a comprehensive methodology for system testing, functional testing, and application security testing, and the same need to be approved by the Standing Committee on Technology (SCOT) of respective MIIs. Sify reports consolidated Q4 profit at Rs 34 mn, revenue up at Rs 8,861 mn

Information technology services company Sify Technologies has reported consolidated profit for the January-March 2023 quarter at Rs 34 million, the company said on Wednesday. The company had registered consolidated net at Rs 227 million during the corresponding quarter of previous year. For the year ending March 31, 2023 the consolidated profit stood at Rs 674 million as compared to Rs 1,258 million registered last year. The consolidated revenues during the quarter under review went up to Rs 8,861 million from Rs 6,805 million registered in same quarter of last year, the company said. For the year ending March 31, 2023 the consolidated revenue grew to Rs 33,404 million from Rs 27,026 million registered year ago. The digital tsunami that swept India during COVID-19 has settled into a steady adoption by both public and private enterprises. Bristol Myers Squibb to invest Rs 800 cr for drug development in Hyderabad

Bristol Myers Squibb, a world's leading biopharmaceutical company will establish a state of-the-art site here to expand its global drug development and IT capabilities with an investment of Rs 800 crore, a Telangana government press release said on Thursday. The announcement was made after Telangana Minister KT Rama Rao's meeting with Samit Hirawat, Executive Vice-President, Global Drug Development at BMS, who is in the city to participate in BioAsia 2023, it said. The company plans to begin operations in Hyderabad later in 2023, with the potential over the next few years to employ approximately 1,500 people who will be engaged in cutting-edge Research and Development and digital activities, a BMS release said.
