Rajasthan govt receives investment proposals of Rs 5.21 trn ahead of summit

The Rajasthan government has received investment proposals worth over Rs 5.21 lakh crore (over USD 62 billion) within two weeks of the announcement of dates for the 'Rising Rajasthan' Investment Summit 2024. According to an official statement, the Bureau of Investment Promotion (BIP), which is the nodal department for the investment summit, has received proposals from some of the biggest names in the Indian and global corporate sector. These projects have the potential to generate about 1.55 lakh direct employment opportunities. The received investment proposals (worth Rs 5.21 lakh crore) amount to over 33 per cent of Rajasthan's present economy (GSDP) which is estimated to be INR 15.28 lakh crore (at current prices) in 2023-24. Delhi-NCR gets max real estate investment in Jan-Jun at $633.3 mn: Report

Delhi-NCR's real estate market has attracted highest private equity investment of USD 633.3 million during January-June period of this year as investors look to encash high demand for prime office space and luxury housing, according to Cushman & Wakefield. In its latest capital market report, real estate consultant Cushman & Wakefield mentioned that Delhi-NCR attracted USD 633.3 million of inflows during the first six months of this calendar year. Out of the total investment in Delhi-NCR, office assets received USD 483.6 million, while residential USD 149.6 million. The consultant noted that the surge in investments in Delhi-NCR has been primarily driven by the office segment, with major equity buy-outs by prominent fund houses. Foxconn eyes Hyderabad investment, CM Reddy pitches 'fourth city' project

Taiwanese electronics major Foxconn has expressed interest in exploring investment opportunities in Hyderabad, Telangana government said on Friday. Foxconn Chairman Young Liu met with Telangana Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy in New Delhi and the latter invited the company to invest in a proposed "fourth city" to be developed on the outskirts of Hyderabad. Reddy assured Liu of full support, including necessary permits and incentives, for setting up factories in the state. "Liu said Foxconn is eager to explore investment opportunities in Hyderabad," an official statement from the Telangana government said. The Foxconn chairman noted that Hyderabad has the potential to expand in all sectors, including industrial and service sectors. PE-VC funds investment declines sharply in July to $2.7 bn: Report

Investments in Indian entities by venture capital and private equity funds declined sharply to USD 2.7 billion in July this year, a report said on Wednesday. The bets were 42 per cent lower than USD 4.6 billion in the preceding month of June, and 35 per cent down from USD 4.1 billion in July last year, the report by industry lobby grouping IVCA and consultancy firm EY, said. Interestingly, the number of deals increased to 81 from 68 transactions in the year-ago period, indicating the deal sizes were down. "The second half of 2024 appears to have had a weak start. We expect PE/VC investors to take a cautious approach as concerns over global uncertainties, inflation and geopolitical tensions play out, influencing the confidence and willingness of investors to deploy additional capital," the firm's partner Vivek Soni said. He added that the budget has been a "net positive" for the sector, and added that the angel tax removal should stimulate investor interest in the start-up space. T

TN govt approves Rs 44,125 cr worth projects, expected to generate 24K jobs

The Tamil Nadu Cabinet on Tuesday gave its approval for 15 investment proposals of a total value of Rs 44,125 crore that are expected to generate over 24,700 jobs in the state. The 16th cabinet meeting chaired by Chief Minister M K Stalin at the secretariat here also granted its nod to three renewable energy policies as part of a goal to achieve 20,000 MW power generation by 2030, according to Finance Minister Thangam Thennarasu here. Emerging from the meeting, Thennarasu said that on August 17 the chief minister would be inaugurating a first-of-its-kind-in-India industrial housing facility for 18,720 employees of Foxconn built at an estimated cost of Rs 706.5 crore at SIPCOT Vallam Vadagal industrial estate in Sriperumbudur, Kancheepuram district. The cabinet gave its nod for projects covering various sectors including electronics, food processing, motor vehicles and battery manufacturing. Blackstone sells over 310 mn units in Nexus Select Trust for Rs 4,355 cr

Global investment firm Blackstone on Friday sold 31.55 crore units in its REIT firm 'Nexus Select Trust' for around Rs 4,354.90 crore through a block deal on stock exchanges as part of a strategy to monetise real estate portfolio. Blackstone currently holds around 43 per cent stake in Nexus Select Trust, which is India's first real estate investment trust (REIT) backed by retail properties. According to exchange data, Blackstone sold 31.55 crore units in Nexus Select Trust at Rs 138 apiece, taking the total transaction value to Rs 4,354.90 crore. Domestic mutual funds, including ICICI Prudential Mutual Fund (MF), and HDFC MF picked up units of Nexus Select Trust. Among foreign companies, US-based financial services company Wells Fargo and Morgan Stanley acquired stake in the company while French asset management firm Carmignac bought units of the REIT firm, as per the data on the NSE.
