Conor Bradley and Ibrahima Konate will not be available for Liverpool's match, with Konate's absence having caused problems in recent games.
Mohamed Salah scored a second-half penalty to maintain Liverpool's perfect Champions League record in a 1-0 win over Girona. A sixth straight win kept the Merseyside club at the top of the revamped 36-team league stage five points clear of second place Inter Milan. Girona was 30th with just one win from six games. Salah struck from the spot in the 63rd minute in Spain. It was his 16th goal of the season in 22 appearances overall. Dinamo Zagreb drew 0-0 with Celtic and both teams remain in the playoff positions. Liverpool's outstanding start to the campaign goes on with Arne Slot's team also on top of the Premier League. Former Manchester United midfielder Donny van de Beek handed Salah the chance to fire the visitors ahead with a clumsy tackle from behind on Luis Diaz in the box. Salah stepped up to convert the penalty and Girona goalkeeper Paulo Gazzaniga went the wrong way. Liverpool's two remaining games are against Lille at home and PSV Eindhoven away in January. U.S. ...
Premier League match official David Coote was fired on Monday after his position was deemed untenable by English soccer's referees body following an investigation into his conduct. The Professional Game Match Officials Limited suspended Coote on Nov. 12 while it looked into a video, published by The Sun newspaper, that circulated of him making offensive comments to friends about former Liverpool manager Jrgen Klopp. Since then, UEFA also launched an investigation into Coote following a video, again published by The Sun, allegedly showing him using cocaine during the European Championship this year. Coote is also being investigated by the Football Association following allegations that he discussed with a fan the possibility of giving a yellow card to a player in a match. Coote denies any wrongdoing, according to The Sun. The PGMOL issued a statement saying Coote's employment has been terminated with immediate effect following the conclusion of its investigation. His actions were f

Arne Slot vs. Xabi Alonso had the makings of an epic battle. In the end it was the Liverpool coach who cruised to victory against the man many believed was destined to take over at Anfield this season. A hat trick from Luis Diaz and a goal from Cody Gakpo saw Liverpool beat German champion Bayer Leverkusen 4-0 in the Champions League on Tuesday and further endear Slot to the Merseyside club's fans, who joyously sang his name at the end. People singing for a manager is not that common, at least not in Holland, Slot said. It all seems so easy for the Dutchman, who replaced Jurgen Klopp in the summer and has led Liverpool to the top of the Premier League and now the Champions League after an outstanding start to his reign. That's win number 14 from his 16 games in charge, but this felt particularly symbolic, given his rival in the opposition dugout. Slot seems too level-headed to have concerned himself with the subplot of facing Alonso, who is arguably the most sought-after young co
A win away from home will take the Gunners within a point from Liverpool who will have a game in hand against as they host Brighton later in the day.
As the weeks go by, Liverpool is showing the quality and resilience to be Manchester City's chief title rival in the Premier League this season. Liverpool twice came from behind to draw 2-2 at Arsenal on Sunday, with Mohamed Salah scoring the second equalizer in the 81st minute at Emirates Stadium. It's just one loss in 13 games in all competitions for Liverpool under new manager Arne Slot this season. A testing past week has seen the Reds beat Chelsea 2-1 in the league, eke out a 1-0 win in Leipzig in the Champions League, and now battle back for a draw at Arsenal the other likely challenger for City's crown. If Liverpool's inner belief is growing, then doubts might be increasing about Arsenal's durability in the title race after finishing runner-up to City for the past two seasons. The biggest concern might be the list of injuries, to which defenders Gabriel and Jurrien Timber were added after they came off in the second half. With defensive linchpin William Saliba missing throu
With slight concerns due to recent injuries, Mikel Arteta's Arsenal is most likely to be on the defensive side against Arne Slot's Liverpool

Mohamad Salah, Virgil van Dijk and Trent Alexander-Arnold have entered the final months of their contracts at Liverpool and can leave as free agents at the end of the season. Yet, manager Arne Slot still found time to joke about the situation on Friday when quizzed about their futures. It's the same boring answer as always and I could really understand if you ask me this once every two weeks but if you ask me this after two or three days again then you still get the same answer and people feel that I'm boring them, Slot told reporters at his media conference ahead of Saturday's game against Crystal Palace. So, try it after the international break again. Questions about Salah, Van Dijk and Alexander-Arnold will only grow as the season goes on and their contracts run down. All three will be able to talk to potential suitors outside of England from January. All three are Liverpool icons given their roles in leading the Merseyside club to its first league title in 30 years in 2020 and

Liverpool goalkeeper Alisson aims to return to action this weekend, manager Arne Slot said on Tuesday. The Brazil international is recovering from a hamstring injury and has been ruled out of Liverpool's English League Cup third-round match against West Ham United on Wednesday. Back-up keeper Caoimhin Kelleher replaced Alisson for the 3-0 win against Bournemouth on Saturday and is set to retain his place against West Ham. Alisson is getting there but I think this game is coming just a bit too early and we are looking at the weekend against Wolves, but it's going to be tight," Slot said. But, he will not be there tomorrow so Caoimh will be in goal." Italian forward Federico Chiesa could make his first start for Liverpool against West Ham. Slot said the offseason signing is still working his way to full fitness. I don't think he's able to play 90 minutes, he only played 25 now as a maximum in the last three, four, five months, he said. But, he is able to start, in our opinion.
