TAC Security teams up with Google as MASA assessor for developers

TAC InfoSec Ltd, a global cybersecurity company specialising in vulnerability management, on Monday announced its partnership with Google as an authorised lab for Mobile Apps Security Assessment (MASA) for Developers on Play Store as a part of App Defence Alliance (ADA). As a MASA authorized Assessor, TAC Security will now be able to assist developers and organisations in meeting Google's stringent mobile application security standards, ensuring apps are rigorously tested for vulnerabilities, and providing top-tier security compliance, according to a release. The government has launched the 'myCGHS' app for iOS to provide Central Government Health Scheme beneficiaries access to electronic health records, information, and resources. IIT Madras develops app for efficient, easy inter-city goods transportation

Researchers at Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Madras, have developed a mobile application for easier and efficient transportation of goods within cities, and eliminating the role of middlemen. Called 'OptRoute', the app connects a consumer with a driver sans any commission or on-boarding fee. The payment from the consumer goes directly to the driver, with no intermediaries. DMRC launches Hindi version of Delhi Metro Rail mobile application

The Educational Testing Service (ETS), which conducts the English testing exam TOEFL, on Wednesday launched a mobile application for test takers to prepare for the new and shorter version of the examination. As the shorter TOEFL iBT test goes live on July 26, test takers registering for the same can now prepare themselves better using the AI powered TOEFL Go app. Indian test takers can gain valuable feedback and coaching on the new format and familiarise themselves with the shortest English language proficiency test, Sachin Jain, Country Manager, ETS India and South Asia, said. IRCTC website, mobile app down for hours due to technical reasons; restored

Ticketing service was not available on the Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation's (IRCTC) website and mobile application for some hours on Tuesday due to "technical reasons", officials said. The booking issue was later resolved, they said. To make the situation worse for passengers, the unreserved ticketing system (UTS) used for purchasing tickets through the Automatic Ticket Vending Machines (ATVMs) also developed an undisclosed problem. Several people faced problems in booking tickets since morning. Some people also complained they faced issues while booking tickets through the IRCTC's ticketing partners. India's app economy is expected to reach USD 791.98 billion by 2030, contributing 12 per cent to the country's estimated GDP of USD 6.59 trillion, a report commissioned by Broadband India Forum said on Friday. The report prepared jointly by ICRIER Senior Visiting Professor Rekha Jain and IIM Ahmedabad Professors Viswanath Pingali and Ankur Sinha is based on the assumption that the app economy will grow at the rate of 2.5 times the GDP growth as of 2030. The researchers defined app economy as the range of economic activities surrounding mobile applications including the development and sale of apps, in-app purchases, subscriptions, advertisements, public relations generated by free apps and the hardware devices and software on which apps are designed to run.
