State-owned MOIL on Saturday reported a 37 per cent rise in net profit to Rs 54.10 crore for the December quarter, supported by lower expenses. It had posted a net profit of Rs 39.51 crore in the year-ago period, the company said in an exchange filing. The company's total income rose to Rs 329.72 crore from Rs 322.86 crore in the year-ago period. Its expenses were at Rs 253.37 crore, lower than Rs 276.75 crore reported in the third quarter last fiscal. In a separate statement, the company said its board also also approved an interim dividend of Rs 3.50 per share for the FY24. The company achieved production of 12.73 lakh tonnes of manganese ore, registering a growth of 41 per cent year-on-year. MOIL, under the Ministry of Steel, meets about 46 per cent of the total requirement of dioxide ore in the country. At present, the average annual production of manganese ore is around 1.3 million tonne.

State-owned MOIL on Monday posted 43 per cent rise in manganese ore production at 10.88 lakh tonne (LT) during April-November 2023. It had produced 7.58 LT manganese ore during the year-ago period, MOIL said in a statement. Last month, the production was 1.62 LT, registering 35 per cent year-on-year growth over 1.20 LT in November 2022. The cumulative sale was 9.45 LT, up 52 per cent from 6.23 LT in the first eight months of the previous fiscal. In November 2023, the company reported sales of 1.01 LT as against 0.86 LT in the same month last year. During April-November 2023, the company conducted an exploratory core drilling of 49,389 metres, 2.6 times higher than 18,899 metres in the same period last year. MOIL, under Ministry of Steel, meets about 46 per cent of the total requirement of dioxide ore in the country. At present, the average annual production of manganese ore is around 1.3 million tonne.

State-owned maganese ore producer MOIL on Friday said it has recorded a 45 per cent rise in its production at 8.15 lakh tonnes (LT) during April-September 2023. It had produced 5.63 LT manganese ore during the corresponding six-month period of the previous year, the miner said in a statement. The production in September 2023 rose 48 per cent to 1.35 LT from 0.91 LT in the same month last year. The company's sales in April-September 2023 also rose to 7.57 LT, registering a year-on-year growth of 54 per cent over 4.89 LT sales recorded in the same period of 2022. Sales in September 2023 stood at 1.56 LT, up 60 per cent from 0.97 LT in September 2022. The production of electrolytic manganese dioxide (EMD) during April-September 2023 rose 26.28 per cent to 692 tonnes over 548 tonnes in April-September 2022. State-owned MOIL has registered a 6 per cent rise in its manganese ore production to 13.02 lakh tonnes (LT) in 2022-23. The company also utilised 14 per cent higher capital expenditure in the financial year that ended March 31 over 2021-22, the Ministry of Steel said in a statement. MOIL Ltd recorded its second-highest production since inception, registering a 6 per cent growth to 13.02 lakh tonnes in FY23 over the previous year. During FY23, MOIL carried out its best-ever exploratory core drilling of 41,762 metres which is 2.7 times of the average exploration achieved in the last 5 years. MOIL, under the Ministry of Steel, is the largest producer of manganese ore in the country, contributing 45 per cent of the domestic production. It operates 11 mines in Maharashtra and Madhya Pradesh.

State-owned miner MOIL produced 1.2 lakh tonne of manganese ore last month, registering a growth of 60 per cent over October. The state-owned firm is braced for much better performance in the remaining period of the ongoing fiscal year, the steel ministry said in a statement. "On the sales front, MOIL has recorded a growth of 82 per cent during the period over the previous month, in spite of challenging market conditions," it said. MOIL, under the steel ministry, is the largest producer of manganese ore in the country and operates 11 mines in Maharashtra and Madhya Pradesh. The PSU holds about 34 per cent of the manganese ore reserves of the country. The company has an ambitious vision of almost doubling its production to 3 million tonne by 2030. MOIL is also exploring business opportunities in Gujarat, Rajasthan and Odisha besides other areas in Madhya Pradesh.
