Payal Kapadia's "All We Imagine As Light" lost the Golden Globe Award in the Best Motion Picture Non-English Language category to France's "Emilia Perez". Kapadia is also nominated in the Best Director category at the awards, telecast in the US on Sunday. The Best Motion Picture Non-English Language also had nominees in The Girl With the Needle (Poland), I'm Still Here (Brazil), The Seed of the Sacred Fig (Germany) and the Vermiglio (Italy). "Emilia Perez", which also won Zoe Saldana a Best Supporting Actress Globe, follows four remarkable women in Mexico, each pursuing their own happiness. Payal Kapadia's "All We Imagine As Light" continues its remarkable run on the international awards circuit, securing spots on the BAFTA Film Awards longlists in three categories, including Best Director. The British Academy on Friday evening shared the results of the first round of voting across 25 categories for its upcoming awards gala. Kapadia's Malayalam-Hindi movie, which scripted history by becoming the first Indian movie to win the Grand Prix award at the Cannes in May, has made it to three longlists of 10 movies each -- Best Film Not in English Language, Best Director and Best Original Screenplay. Theatre stampede case: Police warn action against misleading information

The city police on Wednesday warned that action will be taken against those who spread false information or posting misleading videos on social media about the Sandhya Theatre stampede incident. The police in a post on 'X' said it had come to their notice that some people posted false videos that the stampede had taken place even before actor Allu Arjun arrived at the theatre on December 4. The department said it has already released a video of "facts" that emerged after investigation. "However, it has come to our attention that some people have deliberately posted videos on social media claiming that the stampede occurred even before Allu Arjun arrived. "We will take legal action against those who deliberately spread misinformation even when the case is under investigation," it said. Court grants bail to 6 accused in vandalism at Allu Arjun's house

A group of people claiming to be members of Osmania University Joint Action Committee on Sunday vandalised flower pots and other items at the residence of top Telugu actor Allu Arjun here, demanding justice to the woman who died in 'Pushpa-2' screening stampede. Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy condemned attack and directed the state Director General of Police and the city police commissioner to be tough in maintaining law and order. Police in a release said that one of the protesters who arrived at Allu Arjun's house, mounted the compound wall and started throwing tomatoes. When the security staff objected and persuaded them to get down from the wall, they manhandled the security staff and damaged some flower pots, the release said.
