Chennaiyin FC eye three points before play-offs
Chennaiyin FC go into their final Indian Super League (ISL) game against Mumbai City FC here tomorrow with an eye on a win and possibly the second spot on the points table, which could determine its play-off rival. John Gregory's team comes into the match after a narrow 1-0 win over FC Goa and draws against Jamshedpur FC and Kerala Blasters. A late goal saw the former champions snatch a draw against Jamshedpur while it was a goalless affair against Kerala. The lack of goals from their strike force in the past few games may worry the coach but he would be aware of the abilities of Jeje Lalpekhlua to come good when it matters. Mumbai's hopes of a play-off spot were dashed following a 5-1 hammering at the hands of Delhi Dynamos. They will be playing for pride at the Marina Arena tomorrow and could dent Chennaiyin's chances of climbing to the second spot, by pulling off a win. Gregory will be wanting the team to strike form ahead of the play-offs and a victory will give them the momentum.

Favourite, 'Vijay's Dynamite' ably ridden by Kuldeep S won the Silver Dagger Plate, the chief event of Extra Day of Hyderabad Winter Races held here today. The winner was trained by K V Srinivas. Pak kid 'bowls' Wasim Akram over
A young kid has left former Pakistani legendary speedster Wasim Akram in awe with his pace and swing at such a young age.Recently, a video went viral on social media, in which a young Pakistani boy was seen bowling at a single stump, in a distinctly similar action as Akram's.After seeing the video, Akram showered praises on the kid on Twitter and called him a 'serious talent'.He wrote, "Where is this boy??? Baroda all-rounder Hooda hopes to make debut in SL tri-series
With some key players, including captain Virat Kohli, given a break, young Baroda all-rounder Deepak Hooda is optimistic of making his international debut in the upcoming T20 tri-nation series in Sri Lanka. Hooda was first picked in the Indian squad for the three-match bilateral T20 series versus Sri Lanka held last December at home, but did not get a game. The 22-year-old Rohtak-born player has been chosen again in the T20 squad, to be led by Rohit Sharma, and this time he hopes to get a game. Marsh grinds, Starc hits out for Australia against South Africa
Mitchell Marsh ground out a half-century for Australia and Mitchell Starc hit powerfully on the second day of the first Test against South Africa at Kingsmead today. Australia were 300 for eight at lunch, with Marsh unbeaten on 60. Starc was bowled by left-arm spinner Keshav Maharaj for 35 in the last over before lunch. The tourists added 75 runs for the loss of three wickets in 25.4 overs during the morning. The strongly-built Marsh hit eight boundaries in his half-century but it took him 125 balls and more than three hours to reach only his fifth score of 50 or more in 25 Test matches. On this day in year 2008, India under-19 cricket team, spearheaded by Virat Kohli, lifted the World cup trophy.In the finals of the then World Cup in Malaysia, India defeated South Africa to win by 12 runs by the Duckworth-Lewis method.Coming to bat first, India were bowled out for a below-par score of 159 in 45 overs.Tanmay Srivastava top-scored for India with 46 run after India's poor start.
