Tata Projects Q4 results: PAT at Rs 120.5 cr on back of higher revenues

EPC firm Tata Projects on Thursday reported a profit after tax of Rs 120.57 crore for the quarter ended March 31 on the back of higher revenues. The company had posted a loss of Rs 366.42 crore in the year-ago period, Tata Projects said in a statement. These figures are after after exceptional and/or extraordinary items. The company's revenue from operations increased to Rs 5,412.80 crore during the March quarter, over Rs 5,015.21 crore in the year-ago period, the statement said. Tata Projects MD & CEO Vinayak Pai said the company's strategic realignment, organisational transformation and improved focus on operational efficiencies have started yielding results. "I feel proud to announce that we have returned to profitability, and we are moving forward on our path to deliver predictable and sustainable projects through innovation and technology," he said. Tata Projects is a technology-led engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) company in India.

Two big semiconductor proposals are under process, says Ashwini Vaishnaw

Two big semiconductor proposals are under process and expected to take shape in the coming few months, Union minister Ashwini Vaishnaw said on Saturday. Without divulging specifics of the proposals, the minister said the projects will focus on a special area where India can emerge as a leader at the global level. While speaking with PTI on the sidelines of the groundbreaking ceremony of Micron's semiconductor plant, Vaishnaw said that the global semiconductor company is noticing the progress made by India in the segment and Prime Minister Narendra Modi's capability to execute large and complex policy decisions. "This has developed India as a major trusted geography in which global industry players want to come. We can see in the coming few months at least two more large semiconductor proposals taking shape," Vaishnaw said. He said that there are some specific areas where India can take the lead and the focus of the semiconductor projects will be in areas that can help the country .

Tata Projects to construct Micron's advanced semiconductor plant in Sanand

Tata Projects on Saturday announced its collaboration with Micron Technology to construct an advanced semiconductor assembly and test plant in Sanand, Gujarat. The company in a statement said the contract awarded to Tata Projects solidifies the company's proficiency in large-scale, sustainable infrastructure development in the Indian manufacturing landscape. According to the statement, situated in the Gujarat Industrial Development Corporation area of Chaarodi, Sanand, the project spans an expansive 93 acres of land. "This enduring project is a significant milestone and the largest investment under the India Semiconductor Mission (ISM)," the statement said, adding that the construction of Phase 1 will include a 500,000 square feet cleanroom space, scheduled to be operational by late 2024. TATA IHCL to operate CIAL's hotel project with Rs 100 crore investment

TATA group's Indian Hotels Company Limited (IHCL), which owns the luxury hotel brand 'Taj', will operate Cochin International Airport Limited's (CIAL) five-star hotel at the airport premises with an estimated investment of Rs 100 crore, a release said here on Thursday. CIAL constructed the hotel, which is ideally located near the airport entrance, as part of its land utilisation programme and also to provide the passengers with hospitality services at par with international standards. Taj CIAL at Cochin Airport is expected to be launched by middle of 2024. The airport said it has awarded the contract to IHCL with Rs 100 crore expected to be invested by the company for standardisation of its interiors in accordance with the Tata brand's grade. CIAL has completed the civil, mechanical, electrical, and plumbing works of the hotel and it will be handed over to IHCL soon for the development of the interiors.
