Passengers from India require negative RT-PCR report: Turkish Embassy

People travelling from India to Turkey will be required from Saturday to submit a negative COVID-19 report from RT-PCR test done not more than 72 hours before arrival, the Turkish Embassy here said. The rule will also apply to those passengers who have been in India in the 14 days prior to their travel to Turkey. In the updated rules for travellers from India to Turkey, the embassy said that effective from September 4, passengers who certify that they have had at least two doses (single dose for Johnson & Johnson) of the vaccines approved for emergency use by the World Health Organization or Turkey, provided that at least 14 days have passed since the last dose, will be exempted from mandatory quarantine. Passengers who cannot provide the above mentioned certificate will be quarantined in their residence or the address they will declare, the statement said. Evacuation of Russian tourists underway after wildfires in southern Turkey

The evacuation of 100 Russian tourists is underway from the Titanic Deluxe Bodrum Hotel in Turkey after a forest fire, the Russian Association of Tour Operators (ATOR) said on Thursday."The hotel itself is not on fire. The tourists are being evacuated as part of precautionary measures. A forest on a hill adjacent to Titanic Deluxe Bodrum Hotel buildings is burning. The tourists are being moved to the nearby Lujo Hotel Bodrum and La Blanche Resort Bodrum. Turkey on Saturday registered 7,666 new COVID-19 cases, raising its tally of infections to 5,522,039, according to its health ministry.The death toll from the virus in Turkey rose by 38 to 50,488, while 5,490 more people recovered in the last 24 hours, it said.Turkey started mass COVID-19 vaccination on January 14 after the authorities approved the emergency use of the Chinese Sinovac vaccine.More than 38.86 million people have received their first doses of the vaccine, while over 20.35 million had their second doses. Turkey has so far administered over 62.81 million doses including third booster jabs.
