Home Ministry suggests tips for people working from home against cyber crime

New Delhi, Apr 12 (ANI): Ministry of Home Affairs Joint Secretary (Women Safety) Punya Salila Srivastava on April 12 suggested some tips for the people working from home during nationwide lockdown. She suggested people to follow 'Cyber Dost' twitter handle for the precautionary measures against cyber security. National Cyber Crime portal https://cybercrime.gov.in/ is also available to report against cyber crime, Srivastava added.

Situation regarding essential commodities under control: MHA

New Delhi, Apr 12 (ANI): Ministry of Home Affairs Joint Secretary (Women Safety) Punya Salila Srivastava on April 12 said that situation regarding essential commodities is under control. She said, "In the MHA control room, officials of Ministries of Civil Aviation, Consumer Affairs and Railways have been working in coordination with states to resolve logistics problems."

COVID-19: 11 lakh sanitizer distributed to people, informs UP Add Chief Secy

Lucknow (UP), Apr 12 (ANI): Uttar Pradesh Additional Chief Secretary (Home) Avinash Awasthi on April 12 informed that the supply of sanitizers is done by 70 companies in the state. Almost 1,50,000 liters of sanitizer production is being done on daily basis and almost 11 lakh liters of sanitizer is being produced and distributed in the state.

3 civilians die in shelling by Pakistan in J-K's Kupwara

Kupwara (Jammu and Kashmir), Poonch (Jammu and Kashmir), Apr 12 (ANI): At least 3 civilians lost their lives in shelling by Pakistan in Rangwar area of Kupwara district in Jammu and Kashmir. Due to the shelling, fire engulfed a house. The incident took place on April 12. Also, Pakistan violated ceasefire at Kerani sector in Poonch district.

Massive sanitization drive in containment, high-risk zones in Delhi from tomorrow: Delhi CM

New Delhi, Apr 12 (ANI): Delhi's AIIMS is planning to start plasma therapy on COVID-19 patients. Director Randeep Guleria explained how plasma therapy works in treatment of COVID-19 patients. While talking to ANI, Randeep Guleria said, "Plasma from blood of a person who recovered from COVID-19 is taken and then plasma's anti-bodies are transfused into another patient's blood which boosts their immune system."

Over 1 lakh beds in dedicated 601 COVID hospitals: Health Ministry

New Delhi, Apr 12 (ANI): The Union Health Ministry on said that there are 1 lakh 5 thousand beds in dedicated 601 COVID hospitals. While addressing the regular health bulletin in the wake of pandemic, Joint Secretary of Health Ministry, Lav Agarwal said, "As per 9th April data, if we needed 1,100 beds we had 85,000 beds. Today when we need 1,671 beds, then we have 1 lakh 5 thousand beds in the dedicated 601 COVID hospitals."The government is increasing the number isolation beds and dedicated COVID hospitals.

Indian Army distributes essential items among needy in J-K's Budgam

Budgam (Jammu and Kashmir), Apr 12 (ANI): In a bid to provide essential items amid coronavirus lockdown, 53 Rashtriya Rifles personnel of the Indian Army distributed essential commodities among the needy in Budgam. Army personnel also asked people to maintain social distancing and follow lockdown rules. The food distribution is a part of 'Operation Namaste' campaign. As of now, the total positive cases of COVID-19 have mounted to 207 with 4 deaths and 6 people have been cured.

"On March 29, we had 979 positive cases, now we've 8356 positive cases; of these 20% cases need ICU support. So, today also 1671 patients need oxygen support and critical care treatment. This figure is important to show that government is planning things in being over prepared," said Joint Secretary of Health Ministry, Lav Agarwal.

Assam CM Sarbananda Sonowal chairs all-party meeting over COVID-19 situation

Guwahati (Assam), Apr 12 (ANI): Assam Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal chaired an all-party meeting over COVID-19 situation in the state. COVID-19: HCQ can be harmful, shouldn't be taken without medical prescription, says AIIMS Director

New Delhi, Apr 12 (ANI): Director of Delhi AIIMS Randeep Guleria said that taking Hydroxychloroquine (HCQ) can be harmful if taken without any prescription by a medical practitioner. "For the general public taking HCQ can be harmful, especially it can have cardiac toxicity, leading to irregular heartbeat, it should be taken only for those who it is be recommended for by the guidelines " said Randeep Guleria while talking to ANI. "Studies in China and France said that combination of HCQ and Azithromycin may be helpful if given to COVID-19 patients with moderate to severe illness. The data from the studies are not strong. Since, no other treatment is available, it was felt that it should be used," Randeep Guleria further added. It is said that hydroxychloroquine, an anti-malarial drug deemed to be useful in dealing with COVID-19.

Humanitarian spirit! Anganwadi worker takes pregnant woman to hospital

Kurnool (Andhra Pradesh), Apr 12 (ANI): An Anganwadi worker of Andhra Pradesh's Kurnool did a humane work which has set an example to the society. Divyabharati, who was in labour pain, asked Chennamma for help. Chennamma, who work at an Anganwadi centre in the neighborhood called an auto-rickshaw and took Divyabharati to the hospital. There she stayed with Divyabharati for two days. Divyabharati then gave birth to a healthy baby boy. Not only Divyabharati, but the doctors and hospital staff appreciated the motherly services of Chennamma. The collector of the district G Veerapandian rewarded Chennamma, the kind hearted woman, with Rs. 20,000.

Jharkhand CM Hemant Soren attended video-conference chaired by PM Modi

Ranchi (Jharkhand), Apr 12 (ANI): Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren attended video-conference in Ranchi chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on April 11 over extension of lockdown. CM Soren put forth his concerns during the joint-meeting with other Chief Ministers. PM Modi thanked the states for supporting the decision of the 21-day nationwide lockdown and praised how all the states have worked together as a team to check the spread of the virus. The Prime Minister also forewarned that the global situation remains far from satisfactory and informed about speculations of a possible second wave of the virus spread in some countries. There are total 17 confirmed cases of coronavirus in Jharkhand including 1 death. COVID-19 cases in Indore rise to 298: CMO

Indore (MP), Apr 12 (ANI): Indore Chief Medical Health Officer Dr Praveen Jadiya informed that total cases in district have reached to 298 with 49 fresh cases. "49 more coronavirus positive cases had come yesterday so the total number of positive cases in Indore district rises to 298. The death toll has gone up to 32 after test results of 2 people, who had died earlier, came yesterday," said Dr Praveen Jadiya, Chief Medical Health Officer Indore.

Fruit sellers upset after significant dip in prices following lockdown

COVID-19: Churches across India remain closed on Easter Sunday
