The City Corporation organised a medical check-up camp for the sanitation workers as a precautionary measure against coronavirus. Sanitation workers are on the frontline in India's battle against coronavirus. 6039 active cases have been registered in India so far, with 197 cases in Karnataka.

Yoga session organised for migrant workers at Moradabad shelter home

Watch: Drone cameras used for lockdown surveillance in Rajkot

Rajkot (Gujarat), Apr 11 (ANI): Rajkot Police used drone cameras for surveillance to monitor the situation amid lockdown due to COVID-19 pandemic. One of the drone cameras captured the situation in Jungleshwar area. Currently there are 241 COVID-19 cases in Gujarat, according to the Ministry of Health.

3-year-old dies after hospital allegedly denies ambulance in Bihar's Jehanabad

Jehanabad (Bihar), Apr 11 (ANI): A three-year-old child died in Bihar's Jehanabad on April 10 after hospital authorities allegedly denied ambulance service to child's father. The father alleged that city's government hospital denied an ambulance service for the ailing child. Speaking on this, District Magistrate of Jehanabad, Navin Kumar, said that he is not aware of the incident, however action will be taken if found true. "I am not aware of the incident, however, if such an incident has taken place, action will be taken" said Kumar.

Fire doused at building basement in Delhi's Sri Aurobindo Marg

New Delhi, Apr 11 (ANI): A fire which had broken out at the basement of a building in Delhi's Sri Aurobindo Marg on April 10 was doused off by the authorities. The fire was brought under control by the dint of 10 fire tenders. No injuries have been reported yet. Reason behind the fire is yet to be ascertained.

Himachal has ample capacity to produce hydroxychloroquine: State's Drug Controller

Baddi (Himachal Pradesh), Apr 11 (ANI): Himachal Pradesh Drug Controller Navneet Marwaha informed that there are 10-12 manufacturers who are producing hydroxychloroquine tablets in the state which has ample capacity to produce the drug. "There are 50 drug manufacturers in Himachal Pradesh who hold product licence to manufacture hydroxychloroquine tablets. Most of the manufacturers are of small or medium scale, some have state-of -the-art facility. There is ample capacity in the state to produce this drug. Presently, there are 10-12 manufacturers who are producing it. But, all those who have product license can start their production depending upon order and demand," said Marwaha after the demand of hydroxychloroquine tablets 'life saving' drug surged amid COVID-19.

Immunotherapy treatment after chemotherapy significantly slows metastatic bladder cancer: Study

New Delhi, Apr 11 (ANI): The results of a clinical trial show using immunotherapy immediately after chemotherapy treatment in patients with metastatic bladder cancer significantly slowed the progression of cancer. The study is the first to show that this approach to therapy, called switch maintenance immunotherapy, significantly slows the worsening of a type of bladder cancer called urothelial cancer. The randomised Phase 2 trial tested this treatment in 108 patients. The trial tested immunotherapy known as pembrolizumab after patients were treated with platinum-based chemotherapy in one group of patients and used a placebo after the same type of chemotherapy in a second group. The time until cancer progressed was approximately 60 per cent longer for the pembrolizumab group compared with the control group.

COVID-19: Migrant workers in Surat create ruckus over fear of lockdown extension

Surat (Gujarat), Apr 11 (ANI): Migrant workers in Surat on April 10 resorted to violence allegedly fearing extension of lockdown beyond April 14. Many of them pelted stones at policemen and indulged in vandalism. Police officials detained more than 60 people. A case has been registered under relevant section of IPC. Speaking on this, Surat DCP said, "Workers blocked road and pelted stones. Police reached the spot and detained 60-70 people. We have come to know that they were demanding to go back home."

COVID-19: UP to soon have indigenously produced rapid testing kits, says MSME Secy

Lucknow (Uttar Pradesh), Apr 11 (ANI): Uttar Pradesh's Principal Secretary for Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises, Navneet Sehgal, on April 10 said Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath government is encouraging two major companies in the state - one in Lucknow and other in Noida - which have developed rapid testing kits for coronavirus. Sehgal added that both the companies will send their samples to the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR), and once approved, UP will have indigenous and economical rapid testing kits for COVID-19.

COVID-19: Drone cameras help authorities in monitoring affected zones

Dehradun (Uttarakhand)/ Rajkot (Gujarat), Apr 11 (ANI): Indian authorities are taking the help of drone cameras to monitor coronavirus affected areas in respective states to restrict the spread of COVID-19. The Gujarat Police deployed drones in Jangleshwar area of Rajkot where seven cases of coroanvirus so far. The deployment of drones helps the authorities in implementing cluster containment exercise. Meanwhile, Uttarakhand Police also monitored the situation in Dehradun with the help of drone cameras. Gujarat has reported over 250 confirmed cases of coronavirus while Uttarakhand has seen 40 infections so far.

COVID-19: Inmates of jails stitched 50 PPE sets, informs UP Police

Lucknow (UP), Apr 10 (ANI): Inmates of jails in Uttar Pradesh have stitched 50 PPE sets amid coronavirus outbreak. While talking about it, Anand Kumar, Director General of Police (Prison) said, "These PPE kits were made as per specifications that have been handed over to Balrampur Hospital in Lucknow. 100 more such sets are in the pipeline. One PPE set costs Rs 600".
