New Delhi, Apr 09(ANI): Delhi Police PRO, MS Randhawa on the misbehaviour with two lady doctors at GautamBuddha Nagar said that the culprit has been arrested and further investigation is underway. MS Randhawa assured that every step will be taken to ensure the security of the doctors. He said, "Delhi Police assures full support to the doctors as they are the ones leading the fight against COVID-19." Two women resident doctors of Safdarjung hospital were assaulted at GautamBuddha Nagar after they had an argument over social distancing.
Thiruvananthapuram (Kerala), Apr 09 (ANI): Kerala DGP Loknath Behera inaugurated a disinfectant bus in Thiruvananthapuram amid coronavirus outbreak. The disinfectant bus was inaugurated on April 09. While talking about the bus, he said, "This vehicle will be useful for Police personnel, doctors, nurses and attendees of patients. We will launch this in other districts also."
Raipur (Chhattisgarh), Apr 09(ANI): Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel confirmed 11 positive cases in the state. He said, "Total positive cases in the state is 11, 9 out of them are recovered and were discharged." He said that the last positive case was found on April 08 therefore the entire area has been under complete lockdown. "Contact tracing of the case has been done," he added. Bhupesh Baghel further informed that 76,000 people in Chhattisgarh are currently under home quarantine.
Mumbai, Apr 09 (ANI): While talking about the spread of deadly coronavirus pandemic across the country after Nizamuddin Markaz event in Delhi, Maharashtra Home Minister Anil Deshmukh lambasted on Delhi Police for allowing such event to take place. He said that a programme similar to Delhi's Nizamuddin Markaz event was scheduled to be held near Mumbai in Vasai on March 15-16 but was not allowed by the state government. He asked that why didn't Delhi Police stop this programme like Mumbai Police did? He further added, "Because of this, COVID-19 cases have increased. The whole state machinery is trying its best to contain this pandemic. This new problem surfaced in Maharashtra and other states because of Delhi Police, who is responsible for this?"
Noida (Uttar Pradesh), Apr 09 (ANI): Varun Vihar Enclave in Noida's Sector-28 was sealed after District Administration identified it as COVID-19 hotspot. All movements will be completely barred from the areas to prevent the spread of coronavirus. The UP government identified 23 hotspots on April 08 and sealed them completely. While speaking to ANI, a resident, Dr Nitin Ghonge, who is serving at Apollo Hospital in Delhi's Sarita Vihar said, "Doctors need to go to work, but we are not being allowed to go out of our society." Another resident who is serving at Apollo Hospital in Noida, Dr Sanchita Dubey said, "Order issued by DM is that emergency service providers will be allowed to go even from sealed areas but RWA sealed it and they are saying gate keys are with police. We have called on 112 but no one is receiving the call."
Panchkula (Chandigarh) Apr 09 (ANI): Police personnel of Women Police Station, Sector-5 in Panchkula prepared food for the needy amid the lockdown. ACP of Panchkula, Noopur Bishnoi said, "We've been serving food to about 300 people daily for past 5 days. We'll continue to distribute food until lockdown ends".
Noida (Uttar Pradesh), Apr 09 (ANI): Capetown Society in Noida's Sector-74 has been declared as 'containment zone' by the Uttar Pradesh Government on April 08. Security has been beefed up in the areas keeping in mind the coronavirus lockdown. On the other side, Hyde Park Society of Noida's Sector 79 was also declared as 'containment zone' yesterday. Police personnel have been deployed in the areas to maintain law and order situation. All movements will be completely barred from the areas to prevent the spread of coronavirus. The UP government identified 23 hotspots on April 08 and sealed them completely.
Bhubaneswar (Odisha), Apr 09(ANI): Odisha CM Naveen Patnaik extends lockdown in the state till April 30 amid coronavirus pandemic. With this, Odisha becomes the first state to announce the extension of lockdown. He further requested the Centre not to start railways and air services in the state till April 30. Naveen Patnaik also announced that the educational institutions in the state will also remain closed till June 17. Odisha has so far reported 42 COVID-19 cases and one death.
Noida (Uttar Pradesh), Apr 09 (ANI): CEO of Noida Authority, Ritu Maheshwari said that 12 COVID-19 hotspots were identified in Noida on April 8, of which 16-17 places fall under Noida Authority. "For all these areas, a list of vendors who can ensure doorstep delivery of fruits and vegetables is being prepared. Once the list is finalised, societies will be notified about it," said Ritu Maheshwari. Noida Authority CEO further assured that sanitisation drive across Noida is being conducted especially in the sealed areas. Ritu Maheshwari appealed to all to stay at home and not to panic at this time.

He said, "A decision was taken in today's cabinet meeting to recommend Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray's name for the two vacant Members of the State Legislative Council (MLC) posts that are recommended by Governor." "As MLC elections can't be held due to COVID-19, it is being done to avoid a constitutional crisis," Nawab Malik added.
Bengaluru (Karnataka), Apr 09(ANI): Amid coronavirus lockdown, the excise department of Karnataka claimed that the government is facing loss of Rs 800 crore every month. But the department assured that the losses will be recovered once the lockdown is uplifted. Karnataka's Excise Minister, H. Nagesh on the losses incurred by the government after the closure of liquor shops in state said, "Every month there is a loss of Rs 800 crore, but it is not a problem, it can be recovered once it is open, health is more important."
Chhatarpur (Madhya Pradesh), Apr 09 (ANI): Farmers in Madhya Pradesh's Chhatarpur are incurring losses amid COVID-19 lockdown. They are unable to harvest their crops due to lack of labourers. Nationwide lockdown has been imposed in backdrop of COVID-19 outbreak. While speaking to ANI, one of the farmers said, "There are no labourers to harvest our crops. The machines for harvesting crops are very costly and we cannot afford them. We are worried as we have nothing to sell and earn if this continued."
Chennai (Tamil Nadu), Apr 09(ANI): As a precautionary measure for COVID-19, disinfectant was sprayed on two-wheelers entering the city on April 9. The disinfectant tunnel was put up for two-wheeler riders at Maduravoyal, for the prevention of COVID-19 transmission. On the recommendation from Ministry of AYUSH, Kabasura Kudineer medicine is also being given to the riders entering the Chennai.

New Delhi, Apr 09 (ANI): Communication and Technology Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad on April 9 launched an initiative between Govt of India and Tamil Nadu, with the name Aarogya Setu IVRS. "It will activate once you give a missed call and all options for assistance, healthcare and guidance will be available to you on it," Prasad added. Ravi Shankar Prasad said, "We are also going to launch Aarogya Setu Interactive Voice Response System in other states soon, today was a pilot." He said that while Aarogya Setu is for smart phones, IVRS version will be available even for non smart phones.
Jaipur (Rajasthan), April 9 (ANI): In a video conference meeting with health and administrative officials, Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot has instructed them to work on a war footing to prevent the spread of corona infection in the Ramganj area of Jaipur. The situation in the region is critical and there is a need to implement an emergency plan to prevent community transmission of the virus. CM also underlined that large number of suspicious people would have to be isolated on the lines of Bhilwara in Jaipur. Testing facilities should be increased in Ramganj including door-to-door survey and PCR testing, so that on the spot, samples can be taken for random test. In the meeting, CM said that the number of infected persons in Jaipur, Jodhpur, Churu, Tonk, Jhunjhunu and other districts is increasing rapidly, for which there is a need to increase the speed of sample collection and testing immediately. New Delhi, Apr 09(ANI): Amidst nationwide lockdown and movement of migrant workers during coronavirus pandemic, stranded migrant workers have been accommodated at government shelter homes with basic amenities. Delhi Police Constable Tejpal informed that while patrolling when they came across migrants who were facing fooding and lodging problems, they are brought to the Rain Basera. "After bringing them here, we have entered their data in the Rain Basera as well as in the Police Station for record," he added. He further assured that police visits the Rain Baseras to ensure that migrants are not facing any problem and proper food is available to them.
New Delhi, Apr 09(ANI): Delhi Health Minister Satyendar Jain said till now, there are 669 COVID-19 positive cases in Delhi, which includes 426 cases from Markaz. On the increasing number of COVID-19 cases, he said that as tests are taking place the number is increasing, in hospitals around 70 per cent were tested positive. He further added that the reports of quarantine have also started coming and around 30-40 percent people have been tested positive. "Home delivery services will he provided in the areas which have been highlighted as hotspots," assured Jain.
