At least 22 security personal have lost their lives in the attack on April 03. 16 out of 31 who sustained injuries in the encounter are from CRPF.

New Delhi, Apr 05 (ANI): India reports all-time high daily COVID cases with 1,03,558 new infections. This is the first time that India has recorded over 1 lakh cases in a single-day. Country's COVID caseload stood at 1,25,89,067 with 7,41,830 active cases. 52,847 beneficiaries were discharged in last 24 hours taking the total recoveries to 1,16,82,136. With 478 new deaths, death toll mounts to 1,65,101 . Vaccination drive is underway across country. So far 7,91,05,163 COVID vaccine jabs have been inoculated.
Bijapur (Chhattisgarh), Apr 05 (ANI): Wreath laying ceremony of slain soldiers who lost their lives in the Naxal attack at Sukma-Bijapur border was held at Bijapur on April 05. 22 jawans were killed while several were injured after the insurgents fired on the forces for four straight hours.
Jodhpur (Rajasthan), Apr 05 (ANI): Around 60-70 students of Jodhpur IIT tested positive for COVID-19. Speaking on it, Deputy CMHO Dr. Pritam Singh Sankhala informed that Block G3 on campus declared a micro-containment zone. Most of positive students travelled from Chandigarh, Gujarat and Jaipur.
NOIDA (UP), Apr 05 (ANI): In the view of rising COVID-19 cases and the new guidelines, Uttar Pradesh's GautamBuddha Nagar DM Suhas LY on April 04 said that surveillance is to be intensified in containment zones. "The surveillance is to be intensified in containment zones. After 1 COVID case on a floor of multi-storey building, entire floor would be declared containment zone. If more than 1 floor comes under scrutiny, building to be turned containment zone," said DM Suhas LY.

An encounter took place between Naxals and security forces in Junaguda village in Sukma district on April 03. In the deadly Naxals attack, at least 22 security personnel were killed, and around 32 sustained injuries in the encounter.
Amritsar (Punjab), April 05 (ANI): Amid the rising COVID-19 cases, Punjab police and security guards on April 04 distributed masks to people in Heritage Street leading to Harmandir Sahib (Golden Temple) on April 05. They were also seen creating awareness regarding the Covid-19 guidelines. Punjab has reported 3,019 new COVID cases in the last 24 hours taking the tally to 2,51,460, while active cases reached at 25,314.

At the event, Vardhan said, "From single lab to test COVID-19 to over 2,000 labs across country now, India has come a long way. We exported hydroxychloroquine to over 150 nations. While 7.5 cr doses been administered in India, over 6.5 cr doses sent to other countries."
New Delhi, Apr 04 (ANI): Mumbai reported 11,163 new COVID-19 cases and 5263 recoveries in last 24 hours. A total of 25 deaths were also recorded in the same period. With the fresh cases, tally reached 4,52,445, with 68,052 active cases.
Nagpur (Maharashtra), Apr 04 (ANI): Amid increasing COVID-19 cases in Maharashtra, a video has surfaced purportedly showing COVID-19 ward heavily crowded with positive patients at Government Medical College's COVID facility in Nagpur. Nagpur recorded over 60 deaths in a day.
Jagdalpur (Chhattishgarh), Apr 04 (ANI): In the latest update on Sukma encounter, Bastar Inspector General P Sundarraj informed that bodies of 22 jawans have been recovered and 31 are injured. He said that search for one missing Cobra jawan is on. "Treatment of 31 jawans is underway at a hospital in Raipur and they are out of danger," he said. An encounter took place between Naxals and security forces in Junaguda village in Sukma district on April 03. As per inputs 12 Naxals have been gunned down during encounter, he informed.
Nagpur (Maharashtra), Apr 04 (ANI): Maharashtra Chief Minister and BJP leader Devendra Fadnavis said that opposition is supporting state cabinet's decision of night curfew and weekend lockdown. Kochi (Kerala), Apr 02 (ANI): To lead naval exercise 'La Perouse' with Quad members' Navies, French Navy's Tonnerre and Surcouf frigate arrived in Kochi. The ships were welcomed by Indian Navy staff with great pomp and show. Two ships will lead the navies' joint exercise 'La Perouse'. The exercise is scheduled to be held from April 05 to April 07 in Bay of Bengal. India, US, Australia and Japan are all set to take part in 'La Perouse' joint exercise.
