150 NSG commandos inoculated against COVID-19

Mumbai, Mar 11 (ANI): 150 NSG commandos were vaccinated for COVID-19 on March 11 at the BKC Jumbo vaccination centre in Mumbai, Maharashtra. The second phase of COVID-19 vaccination is underway which aims to protect people above 60 years and those above 45 years with co-morbidities.

'Attack' on Mamata Banerjee: 'TMC politicising issue', alleges Kailash Vijayvargiya

Indore, Mar 11 (ANI): BJP National General Secretary Kailash Vijayvargiya reacted on West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee's injury. He said that the TMC is politicizing the issue. "However, we believe such incidents should not be politicized. I hope Election Commission will send enough central forces to West Bengal to control the political violence," he said. West Bengal chief minister Mamata Banerjee has sustained "severe injuries" on her left foot and ankle as well as bruises and injuries on her shoulder, forearm and neck, according to the report of her initial medical examination at a hospital here on Wednesday.

We condemn statements made within 30 minutes of attack on CM Mamata: Derek O'Brien

Kolkata, Mar 11 (ANI): A TMC delegation comprising of MP Derek O'Brien, state ministers Chandrima Bhattacharya and Partha Chatterjee reaches the Election Commission office in Kolkata to file a complaint in the case of the alleged attack on Mamata Banerjee in Nandigram. While addressing the media there, TMC leader Derek O'Brien said, "Those responsible for this heinous incident need to be brought to book. It was in such poor taste that within 30 minutes, there were other kinds of statements. We condemn those statements. Talk to doctors and see what happened".

Mamata trying to gain sympathy by making excuses of attack: Adhir Chowdhury

New Delhi, Mar 11 (ANI): Congress leader Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury said that West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee is trying to gain sympathy from people by making excuses of attack, conspiracy, attempt of murder etc. "It is laughable that she claims there was no police with her. It is an attempt to win the elections with excuses," he said. CM Banerjee has sustained "severe injuries" on her left foot and ankle as well as bruises and injuries on her shoulder, forearm and neck, according to the report of her initial medical examination at a hospital here on Wednesday.

TMC workers stage protest in Bengal over alleged attack on CM Mamata

Asansol/ North 24 Parganas (West Bengal), Mar 11 (ANI): The workers and supporters of Trinamool Congress (TMC) held protest in West Bengal's Asansol on March 11. They protested over alleged attack on WB Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee at Nandigram which took place on March 10. On the other side, TMC supporters blocked train at Kadambagachi Railway station in Sealdah-Bangaon section in North 24 Parganas district of Bengal. CM Mamata was allegedly attacked by a few persons in Nandigram during her visit.

'CM Mamata sustained severe bony injuries and bruises,' says doctor

Kolkata, Mar 11 (ANI): IPGMER and SSKM Hospital Kolkata updated health status of West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee on wee hours of March 11. Director Dr Manimoy Bandopadhya said, "On her arrival, she got immediately admitted and was examined by senior doctors. Initial examination suggests severe bony injuries in her left ankle, foot and bruises, injuries in right shoulder, forearm and neck. CM complained of chest pain, breathlessness since the incident. She is kept under close watch for 48 hours. Honourable CM is presently traumatized and is under close observation." West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee was allegedly attacked by a few persons in Nandigram on March 10 during her visit.

Tirath Rawat to take oath as Uttarakhand CM at 4 pm today

Dehradun (Uttarakhand), Mar 10 (ANI): Celebrations began at the BJP party headquarters in Dehradun on March 10 after Tirath Singh Rawat was appointed as the new Chief Minister of Uttarakhand. IGP Kumar said, "We have received information that 2 terrorists managed to escape while cordon was being laid. Ganie Khwaja went for training to Pakistan in 2000 and returned to India in 2002. He was active for 5 years in Baramulla, North Kashmir. He was arrested by police in 2007 and was jailed." "He was released in 2008. From 2008-December 2017 he worked as an overground worker for militants. In January 2018, he became active again. After August 2019, he left HM and became chief of Al-Badr," he added.

Assam polls: CM Sonowal files nomination papers in Majuli

Majuli (Assam), Mar 09 (ANI): Assam Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal filed nomination papers in Assam’s Majuli on March 09. He filed his nomination from Majuli Assembly constituency. Assam assembly elections will be held in three phases. In the first phase, 47 seats in 12 districts will go to the polls on March 27. In the second phase, 39 constituencies in 13 districts will go to the polls on April 01 while 40 assembly constituencies in 12 districts to go on polls on April 6. The counting of votes will take place on May 02.

100 saints get COVID jab at Swaminarayan temple in Gujarat

Ahmedabad (Gujarat), Mar 09 (ANI): As the vaccination drive against COVID-19 is in full swing, around 100 saints at the Swaminarayan temple in Ahmedabad also received their shots on March 08. Interestingly, the jabs were given to the saints at the Swaminarayan temple where all the arrangements were done for the vaccination.
