Global economic slowdown largely pegging on India's, China's growth estimates: FM Sitharaman

Washington DC (USA), Oct 20 (ANI): Speaking to ANI, on the economy slowdown Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman said that global economic slowdown and estimates about growth for next year are largely pegging on India's and China's growth estimates. "I'm saying with sense of responsibility that global economic slowdown and estimates about growth for next year are largely pegging on India's and China's growth estimates, in the sense, on their performance depends rest of global growth also," said FM Sitharaman. India to spend $1.3 trillion on modern infrastructure: President Kovind in Philippines

Manila (Philippines), Oct 19 (ANI): President Ram Nath Kovind in Philippines's Manila stated both the countries, are committed to work closely to eliminate corruption. President Kovind also informed that in coming years India will spend about 1.3 trillion US dollars to develop next generation infrastructure. "Both Philippines and India are the fastest growing economy. Both are invested in new technologies, innovations and start-ups. Both are committed to inclusive growth, fighting corruption and bringing about transformative changes in people's lives," said President Kovind in Manila. He further added, "In the coming years, India will be spending about 1.3 trillion US dollars to develop next generation infrastructure from smart city, airports to expressways." President Kovind along with his wife Savita Kovind is on a five-day state visit to Philippines. The visit has been organised at the invitation of Philippines President Rodrigo Duterte.

VP Naidu arrives in Sierra Leone's Freetown

Freetown (Sierra Leone), Oct 13 (ANI): Vice President M Venkaiah Naidu arrived in Sierra Leone's Freetown on October 13. He was received by Dr Mohamed Juldeh Jalloh, the Vice President of Sierra Leone upon his arrival. Naidu was given a ceremonial welcome and was presented the Guard of Honour. VP Naidu emplaned for Freetown on October 12 from Moroni. VP Naidu also met the Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of Sierra Leone Nabila Fareeda Tunis. Nepal decks up to welcome Chinese Prez Xi Jinping

Kathmandu (Nepal), Oct 12 (ANI): Nepal has completed the preparations to welcome Chinese President Xi Jinping. Nepal government has set up welcome gates at various locations around the capital with the flag of Nepal and China docked on the edge of the road as well as the portrait of the President on the poles. The two-day stop-over visit of the Chinese President is set to begin from October 12. As per the schedule, Chinese President Jinping will be landing in capital Kathmandu at around 4:30 PM. Xi is set to hold meetings with Nepal President Bidhya Devi Bhandari at Sheetal Niwas on Saturday evening followed by a dinner hosted by her. He will also hold talks with Nepal's Former Prime Minister and Opposition Party Chairman Sher Bahadur Deuba. Chinese President Xi will be meeting Pushpa Kamal Dahal "Prachanda" on Sunday morning which will be followed by the signing of agreements. President Xi is scheduled to depart for China at 1 PM on Sunday.
