UNSC President refuses to comment on Pakistan's letter to UN regarding abrogation of Article 370

New York, Aug 09 (ANI): President of the United Nations Security Council (UNSC), Joanna Wronecka, refused to comment on Pakistan's letter to United Nations regarding the abrogation of Article 370 in Jammu and Kashmir. Government of India has recently scrapped off 'Article 370' and made two Union Territories i.e. Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh respectively. Though, Pakistan condemned Modi-led government's decision and wrote a letter to the Secretary General of the United Nations (UN) regarding the abrogation of Article 370 in Jammu and Kashmir. The United Nations has urged India and Pakistan to exercise restraint and maintain peace.

Punjab minister Navjot Singh Sidhu had resigned from the state Cabinet few days back. Property worth 500 million rupees gutted by fire in Nepal

Kathmandu (Nepal), Aug 08 (ANI): A fire broke in a building of Nepal's internet service provider, Subisu Cablenet Pvt. Ltd in Kathmandu on Wednesday, which was located near the Prime Minister's residence. Nepal Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli's residence which lies about a kilometre away from the site of the incident was reported at around 1 PM. It took nearly one-and-a-half hours for the fire brigade, Nepal Army, Armed Police Force and Nepal Police to douse the fire. As per the police, about 200 staff members were present inside the building, which hosts the main server, and all were evacuated unharmed. An estimated two thousand litres of diesel was stocked inside barrels that were kept in the building premises to operate the generators. Details about the loss of property are yet to be ascertained but an estimated loss of around 500 million rupees has incurred.

Foreign dignitaries and others mourn Sushma Swaraj's sad demise

New Delhi, Aug 07 (ANI): Condolences began pouring in from foreign dignitaries and others following the demise of former external affairs minister Sushma Swaraj, who passed away due to cardiac arrest on Tuesday night. The 67-year-old BJP stalwart was admitted to All India Institutes of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) following deterioration in her health. She passed away after suffering a cardiac arrest. India's Ambassador to the UAE Navdeep Suri tweeted his condolences, describing Swaraj as an "inspirational leader". Terming Swaraj as one of India's most respected leaders, Ambassador of France to India Alexandre Ziegler lauded her for taking Indo-French bilateral ties to "new heights". PoK activist asks Amit Shah for legislative representation in JandK assembly

Washington DC (USA), Aug 06 (ANI): Prominent Pakistan occupied Kashmir (PoK) Senge H Sering welcomed Union Home Minister Amit Shah's statement on Pakistan occupied Kashmir (PoK) being an integral part of Jammu and Kashmir (JandK), and asked the former to reserve legislative seats of Gilgit-Baltistan in JandK assembly. Sering also asked for legislative representation of PoK region in both houses of Parliament -Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha. "We ask for representation in legislative bodies of India.
