Orphanage care-taker gets 10 yrs in jail for sexual abuse

A local court today sentenced a former care-taker of an orphanage in Nerul to ten years' imprisonment for sexual abuse of minor girls who were the inmates of the institution.

Additional Sessions Judge A P Raghuvanshi found Satish Pagi (45) guilty but acquitted his wife Anita Pagi and his father Samuel Pagi for want of evidence.

Pagi, who was caretaker of the orphanage run by Pune-based Pandita Ramabai Mukti Mission, was accused of sexually abusing minor girls for over a year.

The court convicted him for rape and other charges.
