Union Home Secretary meets Omar

"The Union Home Secretary met Omar Abdullah this evening and discussed the general security situation and law and order in the state," an official spokesman said after the hour-long meeting between the two.

Singh, who arrived here on a two-day visit, will review the cross-LOC trade at separate meetings in Poonch in Jammu region and Uri in the Kashmir Valley tomorrow and discuss the problems being faced by businessmen.

The visit comes close on the heels of the Chief Minister flagging the problems being faced by traders in cross-LoC at an internal security conference chaired by Prime Minister Manmohan Singh last month.
