Who is Aziz Ahmed Khan?

Aziz Ahmed Khan is a politician from Assam. He is a member of the Asom Gana Parishad or AGP. Currently, Aziz is the sitting MLA from Karimganj South. In 2016, he was elected as MLA of Karimganj South Vidhan Sabha constituency in the Assam Legislative Assembly from the All India United Democratic Front party.
Ahead of the Assam polls 2021, Aziz Ahmed resigned from AIUDF to join AGP in fear of losing the election ticket. AGP is the ally of BJP in the upcoming Assam Assembly Elections 2021.
 
In the last Assembly election, Aziz Ahmed Khan won the Assembly seat in a narrow battle receiving 58,060 votes compared to the Congress' Siddique Ahmed, who got 53,644 votes.
 
In the upcoming election, key candidates contesting from Karimganj South constituency are: Aziz Ahmed Khan of AGP, Siddique Ahmed of Congress.
 
Aziz Ahmed is a businessman by profession and has studied till Class 8 at Swami Virajananda Vidyaneketan.
