"Global Clean Energy Action Forum is perhaps the first-of-its-kind meeting where 30 countries in the world will participate. This is a subject relevant to industry, science and humanity. This conference will be held in Pittsburgh from Septembe 21-23, says Union Minister Jitendra Singh. 
He adds, "Besides this, engagements of our joint delegation have been scheduled in Washington too where they'll have detailed discussions with Chamber of Commerce and business leaders. Unless we keep industries onboard, just research won't be enough to ensure clean energy."
"In New York, the joint delegation will also hold discussions with intellectuals and scientists on this subject (clean energy). Indian diaspora residing there will also be included in this five-day visit so that in time to come, they become a part of this global campaign," says Singh

A large number of security personnel were deployed at the State Assembly as Samajwadi Party (SP) on Monday held a protest march against the UP government, raising various demands.

SP chief Akhilesh Yadav and many party legislators and leaders led the march from the party office to Vidhan Sabha highlighting issues in the state before the Monsoon Session of the state legislature commenced today.

Queen Elizabeth II's funeral service to take place at Westminster Abbey today

The longest-serving monarch of the UK - Queen Elizabeth II - who died on September 8 at Balmoral Castle in Scotland, will be laid to rest at Westminster Abbey in London today.

According to a statement by the UK royal family, the state funeral of the Queen will take place on Monday at 1100 hrs BST.

Queen Elizabeth's coffin draped in the Royal Standard is currently lying in state in London's Westminster Hall for members of the public to pay their respects to the Queen.

The Lying-in-State will end right before the funeral and the coffin will be taken in procession from the Palace of Westminster to Westminster Abbey, where the State Funeral Service will take place.

Following the state funeral, the coffin will travel in procession from Westminster Abbey to Wellington Arch, after which the coffin will travel to Windsor and once there, the State Hearse will travel in procession to St George's Chapel, Windsor Castle via the Long Walk.

President Joe Biden says US forces would defend Taiwan if China tries to invade the self-ruled island claimed by Beijing as part of its territory, adding to displays of official American support for the island democracy.

Asked during an interview broadcast Sunday on CBS News’s “60 Minutes” program whether “U.S. forces, U.S. men and women, would defend Taiwan in the event of a Chinese invasion,” Biden said, “Yes.”

CBS News reported the White House said after the interview that U.S. policy hasn’t changed. That policy says Washington wants to see Taiwan’s status resolved peacefully but doesn’t say whether U.S. forces might be sent in response to a Chinese attack.

After China reported its first case of monkeypox on Friday, a senior Chinese health official has advised people to avoid physical contact with foreigners to prevent possible infection.

“To prevent possible monkeypox infection and as part of our healthy lifestyle, it is recommended that 1) you do not have direct skin-to-skin contact with foreigners,” Wu Zunyou, chief epidemiologist at the China Centers for Disease Control and Prevention posted on his official Weibo page on Saturday, reported The Guardian.

The Election Commission of India (ECI) on Sunday informed that a team of officers visited Ahmedabad from September 16-18 to take stock of election preparedness in the state ahead of the upcoming Assembly elections.

"The team comprised of Hridesh Kumar, Nitesh Vyas, Dharmendra Sharma, NN Butolia, Yashvendra Singh, Deepali Masirkar, S B Joshi, Shubhra Saxena, Anuj Chandak,' the release stated.

Extortion case: Jacqueline Fernandez again summoned by Delhi Police
