Hoarding with images of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and BJP president Amit Shah were defaced by unidentified people at Kanpur in Uttar Pradesh on Saturday.
The hoardings were put up by the BJP's city unit at many places to welcome Shah on his day-long visit, during which he was scheduled to take stock of the progress made in the party's 'Maha Sampark Abhiyaan' (mass contact programme).
BJP state unit president Laxmikant Bajpai ordered party workers to immediately remove the hoardings in which the faces of Shah and the prime minister had been blackened.
