Telecom operator Bharti Hexacom, a subsidiary of Bharti Airtel, on Monday posted a 66 per cent jump in profit to Rs 421 crore in the second quarter ended September 30, 2025, mainly on account of an increase in smartphone customers on its network. The company had posted a profit of about Rs 253 crore in the same period a year ago. The revenue from operations of Bharti Hexacom increased by about 13 per cent to Rs 2317.3 crore during the reported quarter from Rs 2,097.6 crore in the year-ago quarter, according to an exchange filing. "Mobile revenues increased 9.6 per cent YoY, attributed to higher realisations. ARPU reached Rs 251 this quarter, up from Rs 228 in the second quarter of 2025, along with an increase in data consumption. Bharti Hexacom has received approval from the majority shareholders at its 30th annual general meeting to sell mobile towers to its sister concern for Rs 1,134 crore, according to a regulatory filing on Wednesday. The Bharti Airtel group shared that its resolution "to approve material related party transactions with Indus Towers Limited, a related party" has been approved with 88.28 per cent votes at the annual general meeting. Sources said that state-run Telecom Consultants of India (TCIL), which holds a 15 per cent stake in the company, had opposed the deal, citing valuation issues. According to the postal ballot notice of Bharti Hexacom dated February 14, as cited in the AGM report, a deal to sell its tower to Indus Towers was agreed upon for Rs 1,134.1 crore. Telecom operator Bharti Hexacom on Tuesday reported over twofold jump in profit after tax to Rs 468.4 crore in the fourth quarter ended March 31, 2025, mainly driven by tariff hikes. The company had posted profit after tax (PAT) of Rs 222.6 crore in the same period a year ago. The revenue from operations of the Bharti Airtel group firm grew by 22.5 per cent to Rs 2,289 crore during the reported quarter from Rs 1,868 crore in the March 2024 quarter. "Mobile revenues grew by 22 per cent YoY led by tariff repair and our relentless focus to premiumize the portfolio and winning quality customers. State-run Telecommunications Consultants India (TCIL) was not consulted in the valuation process for the sale of 3,400 mobile towers to Indus Towers for Rs 1,134 crore, and a fresh deal is being worked out, a government source said. Bharti Airtel and Bharti Hexacom board approved sale of their firms' telecom towers for Rs 2,147.6 crore and Rs 1,134 crore, respectively, to their group company Indus Towers in the first week of February. The deal is being worked out afresh and TCIL has now been engaged in the process, the source said. "TCIL was not kept in loop about sale of Bharti Hexacom mobile towers to Indus Towers. The deal was limited for transactions among group firms only. TCIL wants the sale to take place through an open bidding process where other players can also participate," the source said. Bharti Hexacom on Thursday posted a 22.66 per cent increase in profit to Rs 260.9 crore for the December quarter. The company had registered a profit of Rs 212.7 crore in the same period a year ago. The revenue from operations of the company increased about 25 per cent to Rs 2,250.7 crore during the quarter from Rs 1,800.6 crore a year ago, the company said. Bharti Hexacom provides telecom services to customers in the Rajasthan and the Northeast telecommunication circles. The Northeast circle includes Arunachal Pradesh, Manipur, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Nagaland, and Tripura. The company's average revenue per user increased 20.5 per cent on a year-on-year basis to Rs 241 during the quarter from Rs 200 in the year-ago period. Telecom infrastructure firm Indus Towers will acquire mobile sites of its parent firm Bharti Airtel and sister concern Bharti Hexacom for Rs 3,308.7 crore, the company said in a regulatory filing. The boards of Bharti Airtel and Bharti Hexacom have approved the sale of telecom towers for Rs 2,147.6 crore and Rs 1,134 crore respectively.
