IT services firm Tech Mahindra on Tuesday announced an expanded long-term partnership with Google Cloud to accelerate the adoption of Artificial Intelligence (AI) for enterprises globally. Together, Tech Mahindra and Google Cloud will help enterprises modernise their infrastructure and data architecture while optimising the return on investment from their AI-powered cloud solutions, a company statement said. The partnership will bring together Tech Mahindra's domain expertise and Google Cloud's AI capabilities, including Google's Gemini models, AI development platform, and agentic AI technology, to develop tailored industry solutions for sectors like communications, healthcare and life sciences, manufacturing, automotive, retail, and financial services. Andhra Pradesh's IT and Electronics Minister Nara Lokesh has pitched port city of Vizag in his state for setting up a data centre to Google Cloud CEO, saying the new government in the state has taken various initiatives for supporting industry that will help it transform into a cloud infrastructure hub. The state is focused on setting up data centres in Visakhapatnam and the minister invited Google Cloud to establish its data centre in the port city. India is among the fastest-growing markets for Google in the cloud services segment, a senior executive has said, adding that the tech giant is looking to partner companies in their business transformation through its offerings. Google Cloud India is seeing an "increased adoption" of its offerings across segments from the public sector to small and medium businesses and from startups and digital-native companies, Google Cloud India Vice President and Country Managing Director Bikram Singh Bedi told PTI. "If you look at cloud services as a segment, India is one of the fastest-growing countries for Google. Google Cloud on Thursday said it has partnered with IT firm Wipro to integrate Gemini Code Assist into the latter's development workflows. Gemini Code Assist is an AI-powered collaborator that helps developers write, review, and debug code more efficiently. This collaboration will enhance developer productivity, improve code quality, and encourage innovation, a company statement said. "At Wipro we are using conversational AI/Gen AI technology to improve the efficiency, effectiveness, and quality of the work done by associates on an individual basis. Tools like Google Cloud's Gemini Code Assist will significantly enhance first party productivity among our developers enabling them to deliver higher quality solutions more efficiently," Wipro Limited Chief Information Officer Anup Purohit said. Integrating Gemini Code Assist will accelerate development cycles, reduce errors, and enable developers to focus on higher-level problem-solving, the statement said.
