Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu on Tuesday disbursed over Rs 262 crore under 'Matsyakarula Sevalo' (in the service of fishermen) scheme for the benefit of over 1.3 lakh fishermen families across the state during the annual fishing ban period. Fishing in the sea is banned between April 15 and June 15 every year to facilitate breeding, Naidu said, addressing a public meeting at Tummalapenta village in Nellore district. "The chief minister extended a financial aid of Rs 261.5 crore to 1.3 lakh fishermen families during the fishing ban period," a press release said. The state offers financial aid of Rs 20,000 to each eligible fisherman's family. "The government is committed to ensuring that fishermen's families do not face hardship during the annual fishing ban period, and financial assistance is being provided directly to beneficiaries," Naidu said. Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu on Saturday announced incentives of Rs 30,000 for the birth of a third child and Rs 40,000 for a fourth, as part of efforts to reverse the state's declining population trend. Addressing a public meeting at Narsannapeta in Srikakulam district, Naidu said the government had taken the decision and would announce further details within a month. "I have made a new decision. We will provide Rs 30,000 immediately after the birth of a third child and Rs 40,000 for a fourth child. Isn't this the right decision?" Defence Minister Rajnath Singh and Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu on Friday laid the foundation for nearly Rs 16,000 crore AMCA infrastructure here in Sri Sathya Sai district. The Advanced Medium Combat Aircraft (AMCA) project is expected to generate 7,500 jobs, an official release said. "The CM, Defence Minister and Minister Lokesh laid the foundation for Rs 15,803-crore AMCA project," the release added. Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu on Tuesday laid the foundation for USD 15 billion Google Artificial Intelligence data centre near Visakhapatnam. The 1 GW capacity data centre will emerge as a major step in India's digital infrastructure growth. It is expected to be one of the largest AI data centres in the country and will provide advanced AI cloud infrastructure and large-scale data storage capabilities, an official release earlier said. The facility will be established across 600 acres in Tarluvada, Adavivaram and Rambilli villages, with other private partners, aiming to build a larger multi-gigawatt digital ecosystem in the state. The state government has outlined a long-term vision to develop a multi-gigawatt digital ecosystem with a total capacity of around 6.5 gigawatts, positioning Andhra Pradesh as a major data hub.

Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu announced a Rs 40,000 lease per acre for a decade to the farmers who offered their land under the second phase of Land Pooling Scheme in the greenfield capital city, Amaravati. In addition to promising an annual hike of Rs 3,000 to the lease amount, the chief minister agreed to extend a Rs 1.5 lakh crop loan per household, said a press release issued on Saturday. As many as 20 people were killed and six others critically injured in the cracker unit blast here in Kakinada district on Saturday, a top police official said. "We have information that 20 people were killed in the incident," Kakinada Superintendent of Police G Bindu Madhav told PTI. Microsoft founder Bill Gates will visit Andhra Pradesh on Monday and hold discussions with Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu on expanding cooperation in health and artificial intelligence initiatives. Gates will arrive at the state secretariat here in the morning and meet with CM Naidu, IT Minister Nara Lokesh and deputy chief minister Pawan Kalyan briefly.
