Though it is 20 km from MG Road, the centre of Bangalore, Whitefield is still a desirable destination for companies and malls, apartments and restaurants. “We had been looking at opening a restaurant in Whitefield for the past four-five years. It’s a micro-market which is poised to explode and it’s great to have a first-mover advantage here,” says chef Manu Chandra, who opened his fine-dining restaurant Likethatonly in the area in August in partnership with well-known restaurateur A D Singh, and Chetan Rampal. Chandra already runs two successful restaurants in the city but, like many others, he feels that Whitefield is a distinct and promising market.
