Alfresco acquires WeWebU Software

Technology will enable hybrid cloud, mobile content management solutions

Alfresco, the open platform for business-critical content management and collaboration, has acquired WeWebU Software AG, a Germany based content-centric business applications provider to strengthen its portfolio of enterprise solutions.

With  WeWebU, Alfresco will be able to deliver configurable, role-based file and transactional content management capabilities on top of the Alfresco platform.

WeWebU will operate as an integrated business called Alfresco Business Solutions with Stefan Waldhauser, CEO of WeWebU leading the new business unit.

“Alfresco’s acquisition of WeWebU represents a key milestone in our efforts toward delivering critical content-centric applications to enterprises worldwide,” said Doug Dennerline, CEO of Alfresco. “Alfresco and WeWebU already have existing joint customers and common partners,together we share a common vision of delivering seamless content solutions that work inside the enterprise, the cloud and across mobile devices.”

 

The combination of Alfresco and WeWebU will allow customers to streamline content-centric business processes such as contract, deal and eFile management as well as managing employee files and financial document processing. WeWebU adds dynamic, role-based views and virtual folders to Alfresco’s content management platform, making it easier to customise Alfresco to business processes with configuration instead of coding.

WeWebU provides applications that allow organisations such as Swiss Accident Insurance (SUVA), Mannheimer Insurance and the public sector - from national to local unleashing their enterprise information. In addition, WeWebU features desktop and office suite integration to bring the same usability to the iPad and iPhone by fully integrating mobile users into processes and workflows.
