Berger Paints Q4 net up 55% to Rs 120 cr

Income from operations at Rs 1,246 crore, up 10.6% from a year ago

Kolkata based Berger Paints posted an increase of 54.6 per cent in net profit for the quarter ended June 31, 2016 at Rs 120.3 crore, compared with Rs 77.8 crore a year ago.

In the period under review, the company's income from operations stood at Rs 1,246.1 crore as against Rs 1,126.3 crore in the corresponding quarter of the last year, representing a rise of 10.6 per cent.

As per the company, anticipating huge potential and steady growth in the north-eastern markets in the forthcoming years, it has acquired land for setting up an integrated paint plant at Naltoli in the Nagaon District of Assam near Tezpur, where production is scheduled to commence by January 2017. The factory will produce an entire range of products including water-based, solvent-based and dry products such as putty and distemper.

 

In addition, the British Paints Division of the firm is also setting up a distemper and putty manufacturing facility at Nalbari near Guwahati in Assam.
