Cognizant completes acquisition of TriZetto

The combined entity will serve nearly 245,000 healthcare providers

Cognizant today announced that it has completed the acquisition of TriZetto Corporation.

TriZetto manages the health benefits of close to half the insured population of US and supports about a quarter of all US care providers.

 

The company will add to Cognizant's healthcare business, which has for clients 16 of the top 20 US health plans, and four of the top five pharmacy benefit management companies.

 

"The combination of TriZetto's market-leading platforms with Cognizant's strengths in consulting, IT and business process services will put us at the forefront of creating new models for the healthcare needs of tomorrow," said Francisco D'Souza, CEO of Cognizant. 

 

 

In September, Cognizant had announced that it is planning to acquire TriZetto. With more than $3 billion in combined healthcare revenue, Cognizant and TriZetto will serve nearly 245,000 healthcare providers.
