Dutch firm DSM to launch 2 new polymers

| Engineering plastics major DSM annouced the launch of two new polymers, PA4T and Stanyl Diablo, which will help the automobile industry meet stringent emmission norms as well as reduce its manufacturing costs. The $10.5 billion Dutch multinational is in the process of finalising a location for the commercial manufacture of the polymers with Holland and Asia as the hot choices, Jan Waninge, director of sales and marketing for Asia Pacific, DSM, said today. Waninge said the polymers were developed by the company's research team based at the headquarters in Holland. The new polymers will enable auto manufacturers to meet Euro 4 and Euro 5 emmission norms, he added. DSM's Indian subsidiary is in the process of setting up a new plant at Ranjangaon near Pune where it plans to make 14,000 tonne of plastic compunds for the Indian market. The plant is expected to be operational by the end of June 2008, Nitin Kothari, managing director, DSM India said. |
