Ritesh Sidwani and Bollywood actor Farhan Akhtar-promoted production house Excel Entertainment has joined hands with Dubai-based Riva Group of Companies to launch Excel Media.
The joint venture will develop and launch original content including games, webisodes and animation for television.
While Riva Games will provide the technology for the products, the creative and marketing aspects of the business will be taken care of by Excel. The production hub is distributed between Los Angeles and Dubai, while Excel Media is headquartered at Singapore. The creative team will be based out of India.
The first game to be launched is Fukrey: Rooftop Runner, based on Bollywood movie, Fukrey, produced by Excel Entertainment and releasesd this year.
"We are excited at the prospect of expanding our global reach with this collaboration with Excel Entertainment, which is in my opinion the best film studio in India," said Paul Roy, chairman, Riva Group.
