Godawari Power and Ispat has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the Government of Chhattisgarh for for setting up of cement plant comprising of 2 million tons per annum capacity of cement and 1 million tonne per annum capacity of clinker along with power plant of 50 mw capacity.

</p><p class='TableClas'>The project will be implemented through a special purpose vehicle (SPV) to be incorporated in due course after allotment of limestone mines by the state government.</P>
</p><p class='TableClas'>The company had earlier announced its annual results for the quarer ended March 2008 and recorded a net profit of Rs 28.83 crore as compared to Rs 11.95 crore posted in the correspomding quarter last year (2006-2007).</P></p></table>
