Japanese automobile maker, Mitsubishi, on June 22 launched the Outlander 2018 edition in India at Rs 3.15 million (ex-showroom). Among a host of new features, the 7-seater sports utility vehicle (SUV) has foldable mid and last seat rows, electric sunroof, keyless operations, electric parking brake and dual-zone climate control.

The car is powered by a 2.4-litre, four-cylinder, naturally aspirated petrol engine that produces 167 horse power and 222Nm of torque. The engine is mated to a six-step CVT automatic transmission that distributes power to all-four wheels, making it a permanent 4-wheel vehicle. The car is claimed to go from standstill to 100 km/hours in 11.1 seconds.

The car sports an aerodynamic front and roof design, which is claimed to reduce the wind drag coefficient by seven per cent. It has LED headlights and fog lights that turn on automatically, adding to safety during night drives. The car also offers automatic rain-sensing wipers and anti-trapping electric sunroof. It comes loaded with anti-lock braking system (ABS) & electronic brakeforce distribution (EBD), which provides directional stability while cornering. The car also features hill start assist (HAS), which prevents car from rolling back when accelerated from stationary position while climbing hill. In the inside, the car gets genuine leatherwork with rich trim level. The car also gets keyless operation system with one-button push start.

For in-cabin multimedia and entertainment, the car boasts a 6.1-inch two DIN audio system, paired with Rockford Fosgate 710W 8-channel high-power amplifier that connects with four speakers, two tweeters and a woofer.
