Mochi plans 22 new stores by March 2012

As part of its expansion plans, Mochi- branded retail chain of footwear stores, is planning to open 22 new stores by March 2012. The company has just opened its first store in Nashik.

Moreover, the company is also planning to launch online sales service by the end of the next FY 2010-11.

With the opening of new store in Nashik, Mochi now has 28 stores in 18 major cities across the country, including 9 in Maharashtra- 6 stores in Mumba, and 2 in Pune and now in Nashik.

Mochi caters to a young, cosmopolitan crowd, offering fusion wear along with some legendary classics for the season. Apart from in house brands, Mochi also retails Florsheim, Puma and Red Tape. It also offers a range of chic handbags, mobile cases, belts, socks, as well as Collonil shoe care and Dr. Scholl foot-care products.

 

“We are planning to reach our total number of stores to 50, by adding 22 new stores in major cities of India by March 2012. Around 11 new stores will be opened March 2010. Cities, where these new stores will be located, include Chennai, Kolkatta, Pondicherry, Vijaywada, Nagpur, Aurangabad, Thane and Kolhapur,” Khalid Majid, Sr. Company official, Mochi, said at a press conference here.

“Moreover, we are also planning to commence online sales service by FY 2010-11,” he added.
