BS Reporter Chennai/ Mysore

Getit Infoservices Pvt. Ltd., publisher of the GETIT Bizlist in 14 centres across India, plans to come out with a CD of the businesses listed in its commercial telephone directory. It also intends to introduce voice service to callers seeking phone numbers of businesses soon.

Getit’s second 110-page directory of Mysore, with over 30,000 businesses alphabetically listed, 25 pages of information with a multi-coloured map of the city and updated information of essential services was released here on Saturday.

Though recession had affected to some extent resulting in a shortfall in expectations, there was overwhelming response over last year, customer base showing an increase to 1,100 from 900. In other centres too, the response is good, Getit Infoservices general manager Sunitha Devdas said.

Recession is the time when every business house must advertise. Without advertising business would not happen. Businesses should ensure their visibility at such a crucial market situation, she said.

Every business telephone subscriber from all the telecom service provides had one free listing in the phone directory. Around 40,000 copies will be distributed free of cost in Mysore from April 11 onwards, making its presence at all the important business centres, offices and residential areas, she said. “We want to reach our customers with our own voice service so that we can give any information on any business. This we want to introduce all across the country soon, starting from Mumbai probably this month. The software is being developed for the purpose,” Sunitha said, while releasing the directory later.

The directory is India’s largest business listing and is also available in e-pages, internet apart from print.
