As part of its corporate social responsibility (CSR) activities, Assam-based Numaligarh Refinery Limited (NRL) has launched a flagship scheme named 'Gyanjyoti' with the objective of encouraging and supporting meritorious and promising students at the +2 level.
Under the program, full scholarship would be offered to five meritorious students (out of which at least 2 would be girl students) for pursuing +2 education at the prestigious Delhi Public School (DPS), Numaligarh, located in NRL township. Entire expenses including school fees, books, uniform, hostel fees and special coaching to prepare the students for competitive examinations for taking up admissions in engineering and medical courses after Class XII would also be borne by NRL, stated a company press release.
The release added that the students would be selected purely on merit and selection would be done on the basis of admission test to be conducted by DPS, Numaligarh, subject to the candidates scoring a minimum of 90 per cent marks in the Class X examination. If any such selected candidate fails to get 90 per cent marks in Class X examination, the scholarship would be withdrawn.
