P&G Q3 net up 25%

Procter & Gamble Hygiene & Health Care Ltd’s third-quarter net profit rose 25.35 per cent to Rs 43.66 crore from Rs 34.83 crore in the year-ago period.

Net sales were up 15.29 per cent at Rs 204.97 crore against Rs 177.78 crore in the corresponding period last year. Procter & Gamble follows a July-June financial year.

Segment-wise, feminine hygiene rose 15.74 per cent to Rs 125 crore, compared to Rs 108 crore in the corresponding period last year, on the back of strong sales of Whisper, the leading brand in the space. Healthcare segment, represented by the Vicks brand, grew 14.28 per cent to Rs 80 crore, against Rs 70 crore in the corresponding period last year.

 

Advertising and sales promotion expenditure went up 6.69 per cent to Rs 44.13 crore, against Rs 41.36 crore in the corresponding period a year before. Earnings per share stood at Rs 13.5 as against Rs 10.7 last year.
