| Pfizer has completed the migration of the field force of Parke-Davis India following the merger of the two pharmaceutical majors in the country. "The migration of Parke-Davis' field force has been successfully achieved. Out of a total of 429 medical service representatives (MSRs), over 320 have been taken into employment as professional services officers at service conditions in force at Pfizer," the company said in its annual report for 2000-01. The rest have opted for separation under VRS. The entire exercise was carried out without any disturbance in customers services while retaining the goodwill in the marketplace, the company said. There has been an all round progress in consolidating the operational integration between Parke-Davis India and Pfizer. A number of specific projects were identified in each of the key functional areas. These included distribution integration and network rationalisation, order processing, information technology network and groupware, finance and treasury management systems, employee transition programmes and human resource policies. Each of the teams worked with diligence to crystalise the plans and achieve goals within targeted time frame. Most projects are currently under implementation, the company added. As part of the company's human resource (HR) initiatives, all policies have been revisited and reviewed with the assistance of a cross-functional team both from the angle of harmonisation and also positioning cost-effective business practices. A new performance management system and a variable incentive pay system have been developed and documented with involvement and inputs from key users. This is being rolled out for the year 2002. |
