Rajkot firm to build mud cottages in Gir area

Rajkot-based Swati Infratech Private Limited is planning to build mud cottages in Gir area of Junagadh district. For this, the company has started acquiring land in Maranaka village, near Mendarada taluka of Junagadh.
"As Sasan Gir is now becoming one of the most popular tourist destinations in Gujarat, we have decided to set up mud cottages and farm houses in this area. We are targeting to acquire about 400 acres land in Mendarada taluka of Junagadh district. So far company has acquired 50 acres land over there," said Niraj Ramani, director of Swati Infratech which is currently setting up a township in Rajkot.
The mud cottages as well as farm houses will span an area of one acre each wherein other facilities like open space and swimming pools will also be provided.
According to Ramani, the project will start after completion of the Rajkot township and will take about two years time.
Swati Infratech has set up a township project at Rajkot comprising 1,000 residential units. Almost 75 per cent of its work is complete at an investment of Rs 150 crore in this project.

To popularise its project, Swati Infratech has also announced a scheme where the company will provide a cow with each residential unit.
"We will also launch a similar scheme in our new project where we will give 'Gir cow' to our buyers. Tourism activity has increased in Gir area after the state government's promotional activities.
Keeping the growing need for accommodation in the area in mind we have taken up this project," said Dhirubhai Ramani, managing director, Swati Infratech.
The project will have dual concept wherein interested parties can either buy a mud cottage or hire it for a brief period.
Land acquisition cost itself will be about Rs 40-50 crore for Swati Infratech.
Meanwhile, the company had planned to develop a township in Bangalore which it had to drop following some changes in government policy there.
