Tata Chemicals has signed a memorandum of understanding with Institute of Chemical Technology (ICT), Mumbai, for creating an endowment chair - ‘Tata Chemicals Darbari Seth Distinguished Professor of Chemical Engineering’.
Tata Chemicals will be donating Rs 3.5 crores as endowment fund to help set up the Chair Professor’s position.

Mukundan, MD, Tata Chemicals, said, "Our partnership with ICT will help to inspire and motivate teachers in the field of chemical engineering whilst recognizing exceptional individuals in this field. This platform is our tribute to exemplary teachers who have contributed towards the promotion of Chemistry and Science in the country and as a part of our lives.”
Tata Chemicals along with ICT have agreed to collaborate on several new initiatives such as conducting research and development programmes with a focus on sustainability, green chemistry, undertaking projects at ICT based on chemical technology related challenges, highlight career opportunities in chemical engineering and more.
