The Prime Minister is back in office after his knee operation and racing forward for the forthcoming round of talks between India and Pakistan.

Vajpayee also has to deal with the political crisis brewing on account of the ceasefire extension with the Nationalist Socialist Council of Nagaland because of which 13 people were killed and the Manipur State Congress Party (N) has withdrawn support from the NDA.

On the other side of the fence, General Musharraf was sworn in as President and, as such, he will now get a 21-gun salute and a full ceremonial welcome in Delhi. If there were any doubts about it, Musharraf now has absolute power in the country.
