CBI may question Geeta Reddy in Lepakshi Knowledge case

The government had allotted about 10,000 acre to the project in Anantapur district when YSR was chief minister

BS Reporter Chennai
The CBI is expected to question Andhra Pradesh industries minister J Geeta Reddy tomorrow (Tuesday) in an ongoing investigation into the controversial 'Lepakshi Knowledge Hub' project. The government had allotted about 10,000 acre to the project in Anantapur district when YSR was chief minister.

Promoters of the project were later found to have taken over Rs 400 crore loan by mortgaging the land besides diverting these funds to other purposes. The administrative decisions related to this project were included in the quid pro quo investment case filed against Kadapa MP Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy.

Former ministers - D Prasada Rao and P Sabita Reddy, who had to resign after being named in the charge sheets in the Jagan case - were also questioned in the Lepakshi case by the CBI recently.
