Data story: India adds 4,369 new Covid cases; active tally at 46,347

India on September 13 reported a decrease of 829 in active coronavirus cases to take its count to 46,347. The country is thirty-second among the most affected countries globally by active cases. On September 13, it added 4,369 cases to take its total caseload to 44,504,949. And, with 20 new fatalities, including seven reconciled by Kerala, its Covid-19 death toll reached 528,185, or 1.19 per cent of total confirmed infections.
 

With 2,167,644 more Covid-19 vaccine doses being administered on September 12, India’s total count of vaccine shots so far reached 2,154,780,693. The count of recovered coronavirus cases across India, meanwhile, reached 43,930,417 — or 98.71 per cent of the total caseload — with 5,178 new cured cases being reported on September 13.
