DATA STORY: India reports 3,417 Covid deaths in a day, 368,147 cases added to tally

India has so far administered 157,198,207 vaccine doses. That is 788.93 per cent of its total caseload, and 11.29 per cent of its population

India on Monday reported a net increase of 63,998 in active coronavirus cases to take its count to 3,413,642. India’s share of global active coronavirus cases now stands at 18.24 per cent (one in 5). The country is second among the most affected countries by active cases. On Monday, it added 368,147 cases to take its total caseload to 19,925,604. And, with 3,417 new fatalities, its Covid-19 death toll reached 218,959, or 1.10 per cent of total confirmed infections.
 
With 1,210,347 more Covid-19 vaccine doses being administered on Sunday, India’s total count of vaccine shots so far reached 157,198,207.
