India seeks enhanced cooperation from Switzerland to tackle black money menace

Rajnath Singh has told the visiting Swiss minister that India seeks Swiss co-operation for tax information exchange

India, on Ocotber 6, sought enhanced cooperation from Switzerland in tackling the menace of black money by providing information on people stashing illegal funds in that country.

In a meeting with the visiting minister or Justice and Police of Swiss Confederation, Indian Home Minister, Rajnath Singh, told Simonetta Sommaruga that India is looking forward to cooperate with Switzerland on the issue of exchange of tax information since black money is a major issue that needs to be tackled, an official statement said.

India and Swittzerland signed three pacts including mutual visa exemption agreement for holders of diplomatic passports, technical arrangements on identification and return of illegal migrants and arrangement for dependents and staff of the diplomatic and consular mission to enable them to perform gainful employment.
